i sent you an email but not sure it went through. hotmail sucks.
let me know if you didn't get one.
Please add me on. Already getting info from our Salisbury Support Group. But, if you get anything new let me know.
We know Sen. Colbourn. He lives in our county. One of the bills is his doing. I know he will be pushing hard for this.
Bobbie
Tried to email you but I don't know how.
Yes, I have been bitten in Maryland (very many times)
I was originally diagnosed in Maryland and doxy was started.
But my Mono test came back first before my lyme titer from Lab corp. So they put me on a course of prednisone first.
Had to find a LLMD, which I did and the rest is history. I have or had all the tick borne diseases. Been on treatment for 1 and a half years.
I gave it to my daughter. She has been on treatment for over a year. Got my mother checked. She has Lyme & babesia & ehrlichia
Count me a "?"
I was bitten in Maryland, misdiagnosed multiple times in Maryland, finally (due to your help and others at lymenet) correctly diagnosed for lyme and babesia by a Maryland LLMD.
Thanks for all your hard work,
Katherine
Went to several doctors in MD - neurologist, infectious disease, my primary, my new primary, throat specialist, rheumatologist, etc, and Lyme was never suspected since all my LabCorp tests were negative...
Found Dr S through referrals from Lymenet. Thank God I finally found a doctor that knows what he is doing.

Nice present! Went to 16 docs in MD until my daughter diagnosed me. This was in the year 2000.
I plan on going to the MD assembly on March 10.
I am sorry I have been working on the bill stuff a LOT lately behind the scenes... and I have not had a chance to come visit.
Here is some new information. I would appreciate it if you could share this with everyone who could help.
Thanks!

Greetings:
Concerned citizens across Maryland are in the early stages of trying to get bills passed to help Lyme disease patients. The bill that is now scheduled for a hearing (Lyme Disease Bill SB596) will include insurance coverage, provisions for long term treatment when necessary, and protection for the doctors who treat Lyme disease.
Please share this message with everyone you know who has been affected by Lyme and tick borne diseases.. especially in and around Maryland.
In a letter...
Briefly tell the politicians how Lyme disease has affected you and/or your family.
To help them understand our situation, please include the following information.
1. The difficulty getting a doctor to properly diagnose or treat you. Approximately how many did you see? Did you have to go out of state for treatment?
2. How long were you sick before getting a diagnosis? What were you misdiagnosed with prior to a proper diagnosis?
3. Insurance problems you have had. The cost to you and your family in dollars (estimate).
There is a hearing scheduled for March 10, 2005. Please make 20 copies of your story so they can be submitted ... and IMMEDIATELY mail the copies to:
Lynette Kenny
Senator Richard F. Colburn
315 James Senate Office Building
Annapolis, MD 21401
OR-
Email your stories to the address below so I can make copies and submit them for you:
Thank you for helping all of us have a fighting chance.

If you get the choice to sit it out or dance...
Maryland residents who are at risk for contracting Lyme disease, or who
have been suffering with it over the years, finally have some hope. Thanks to
Senators Colburn, Dyson, Jacobs and Stolzfus, a Lyme Disease Bill (SB596)
has been introduced that will help people obtain proper medical care for tick
borne diseases.
If the bill passes, limited treatment guidelines, poor insurance coverage, and
the lack of physician availability will no longer be an issue that impedes the
recovery process for the growing numbers of patients who need help.
The public is encouraged to attend a hearing which will be in Annapolis,
Maryland on March 10, 2005 at 1:00 PM. For more information on the
hearing or instructions on how to submit written testimony to support the bill,
please contact Senator Colburn's office at 1-800-492-7122, ext. 3590.

Thanks for those who are sening me their stories to print out.
Please excuse me if I don't respond to each one individually. But DO know how wonderful I think you are!
We CAN make a difference.
This political stuff sure takes up a lot of energy!
But guess what?
YOU GUYS are already making a difference!!!
I called a contact there today.. and they said..
"We already have TONS of calls and letters"... in support of the bill!!!
I WAS SO HAPPY to hear it!!! And THEY said "TONS"!!!!
I appologized to them for all the extra work they were having to do because of us.. but I couldn't help grinning when they talked that sweet talk. It was "music to my ears".
Please know I am still getting your stories.. and have finally gotten the official word on how to handle them all so they will be the most effective.
Again I am sorry I can't respond to all of them now. I am ate up with busy and just don't have time for each email.
Keep in mind I have gotten several hundred emails in the last few days.. and I just can't do it all.
So please know I am using YOUR wonderful information to make them all listen.
THANK YOU!!
And please.. this occured to me today...
Please save your stories so they can be available when PA, and DE, and VA, and all the states need help.
Or did I mention that to you already?
Anyhow.. just a tip. Once you do this letter.. it can be used later... as needed.
I will finish up and hit the hay.
And because of YOU .. there will be a smile on MY face tonight.
