Hello. I am new to this board and looking for some answers concerning my daughter. About 11 years ago she got some multiple lesions all over her body that was red circles with a white center that then turned brown. She was diagnosis with possible strep by her doctor and then when she got the rash I took her back. He said he thought it was a rare condition that she was allergic to the strep bateria itself and gave her a shot of prednisone. I am afraid she was over looked and had lyme disease. She is 15 years of age now and having alot problems. If this was lyme at the time would it still show up on a western blot test? She has had alot of different test and nothing is showing up. Here are some of her symptoms:
Sinus problems
Recurring headaches on left temple
Uti's
Fibrocystic disease
Hairloss
Joint pain in knee.
Night sweats
Gastritis
Acid reflux disease
She also has one pupil that is bigger than the other.
I am just concerned that something is being over looked.
Thanks so much,
Brneyedgrl

Hi Browneyed,

Everything you listed is symptomatic of lyme.
Red circles with a white center ? Like a bullseye ? Combine this with her symptoms and viola ! You more than likely have lyme.

It is not unusual for many to test negative repeatedly. Few labs are properly equipped to test for lyme. Some of the better that are........MDL, Igenex, Stonybrook.

I would strongly advise you to check "Seeking a Doctor" area of the forum, and find one that's literate in lyme [LLMD] in your area. Post the state your in, and folks will refer a doc to you by e-mail.

I'm not a doc, but if I was a betting man, I'd say your daughter exhibits classic symptoms of lyme. The sooner treatment starts, the faster the healing.

I see your in Missouri, that means your in luck when it comes to finding a good LLMD.

Welcome to this 24/7 support group board!

Here's TREEPATROL's and tincup's combination newbie links.
http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/029917.html

Print off the links then check them off as you read as you could spend several months reading all of this.

print & read Dr. Barrascono's info first; you will come back to this often.

Betty G., Iowa

PS - you're lucky Missouri has Dr. C in Springfield and another one in KC.
