Just wanted to see if anyone had been to see Dr. R a Neuro doc in NJ and if you he was helpful. Just called his office and he actually takes my insurance and is Lyme literate-sounds too good to be true!

I recently saw an ID doc who told me that I didn't have lyme but suggested cognitive testing with a neuro doc just to rule out lyme (whatever that means!!!)

Dr. R is quite some distance from my home but I'm willing to drive the distance if he's worth it!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!
Kim

I did see Dr. R a while ago - he is very good - one of the only LL Neuros. When I saw him a few years ago - he was doing a great deal of research on LD. He was trying to compare MS and LD patients - and then he had a group that really did not fit into either - that's where I fell! I do have to make an appt. with him since it has been years - I'm sure that he has come a long way.
Good Luck

Do others use Dr. R in NJ?

Where is he located?

Does he use the Bowen lab for testing for Lyme?

Dr. R is in Neptune and supposedly is very lyme literate. From what I understand, he doesn't draw blood at his office but sends his bloodwork to Igenex. I have already had bloodwork sent there and received results through another doc so I'm hoping that he'll just use the results that I have to treat me.

I'm scheduled to see him in April and I'd be glad to let you know what I think of him after I've seen him.
