I've been taking antibiotics (abx) for 15 months now. Lately, I've taken Biaxin, Amantadine, Tindamax, and Mepron for two months straight, Monday through Friday. My pain level has increased dramatically recently. Hopefully, that's a herx.

Another "side effect" is that I'm getting some major-league pimples on my face. I'm 43 years old. I'll get an occasional pimple if I don't watch the carbs. But I've been doing low carb for several years. My diet hasn't changed recently.

Is anyone aware of pimples as a side effect of the abx I'm taking? Or could they be a herx?

Yep I did same thing abx's are killing every bacteria included in your skin.It will stop when its gotten all of them

Wait till you finally go off abx's Iam still getting pimples feel like Iam going threw puberty again Ive been off abxs now since sept27th 04.

Hek just got a new one this morning on my right cheek. At least there getting fewer and farther apart.

hum, interesting...I've been breaking out again.

For years before LD dx I would breakout with severe cystic acne periodically and tetrcycline would clear it up, and make me think clearer, and get rid of the fevery feeling. Docs always said it was all in my head, cuz my temp was "normal"

now...3 wks into iv clindamycin, I've been breaking out a lot...this week it seems to be clearing a bit..we'll see.

I am so tired of having acne in my 40's!
