We just got labs back, I was positive. Gee that was a surprise since I had lyme in 1985.

But the kids were unequivacal (don't even know if that is the correct word). The llmd said that even with the top labs Igenex and MDL that with these congenital cases the LD is harder to detect. Anyone know anything about this? LLMD definately believes kids have LD based on clinical diagnosis.

Regards
Paisley

paisley, I'm relatively new to this board and certainly not an expert but can tell you that a number of drs have told me that congenital cases in early years are known for their "masking". the lyme evidently is so prevalent in all parts of the body that the immune sys sort of ignores it and goes on to care about other things, at least for a while. Then, as time goes on and the infection cycles, the symptoms begin to present themselves more and more. Wish i had better info and i may not be exactly accurate but is the way I understand that physicians are telling me. Personally, the fact that ur kids tested equivicable would be enough for me to declare that they have Bb. ping

Hello Paisley,

I believe my daughter got lyme inutero. Her test was positive, mine positive, and my husbands equivicol.

My LLMD says equivicol definitely means positive to him. She has always had some kind of symptom starting back when she was very small to horrible stomach aches, sore throats, headaches, and now joint pain.

As I recall your children have symptoms right? I'd definitely take the equivicol as a positive and start treatment ASAP.
