Has anyone had any experience or knowledge of Lyme disease being an occupational disease?
Workers Comp Ins. doesn't want to cover me because it's been over 3 yrs since my last Lyme claim. They say it's not an occupational disease so since I haven't had a Lyme related claim in 3 yrs. I'm not covered.

Please email me. I'd prefer to keep this as low key as possible. [email protected]

Lyme is considered an occupational disease.. "caused by an injury".. which is the tick bite.

Some states have laws making Lyme compensible now.

Use to be it was not considered an "occupational illness".

Good luck!

Thanks Tincup. My job is an outside job so I think it would fall into that catagory. But where I live Lyme isn't common....yet. But the state I got Lyme in it is.

The mediator said my case might set a precedent, in the state I live in.

Sounds like they're trying to pull a fast one and like you ARE right. How you get them to agree, I don't know, but I wouldn't give up just yet, keep pushing.

It will be up to the lawyers and judge. I'm just trying to get info to help me. If I can find out what states consider it an occupational disease it might help my case.
