I have not been dx'd, but I'm pretty sure I've got it.
My doc prescribed 500mg of naproxen (?) twice daily for the pain.
If I have lyme, will this make things worse?

Well, you need the pain relief. I would take it. Hopefully, you won't be on it forever. Once you get on abx and move toward getting better, you can get off the meds.
Aleve is pretty benign, but my LLMD doesn't like to use NSAIDS.
[I took them for years and years....but don't anymore.]

Any thing that makes it feel better. I am not aware of any problem with Aleve. I have gone through alot of Ibuprofen at times.
Alchohol is not good for us Lymies, but that is probably not an issue.
Sometimes a soak in a hot bath really helps the aching body.

thanks - hopefully it will work

Aleve should be fine. It can cause stomach problems, but thats after long-term use. So go relieve your pain. And if it doesn't work, ask your doctor for something else.

Sounded like you want to take Aleve along with Naproxen.
I was given Naproxen 500mg 2x a day for arthritis. Warning on bottle says "do not take with aspirin." Not sure, but I think it is given to reduce inflammation.
I also have a bottle of Aleve. Box says "naproxen sodium tablets, 220 mg."
Just to be safe, you should check with your pharmacist before you combine them. You could possibly get too much naproxen/day.

Aleve is brand name for naproxen. Prescriptions are stronger than what is allowes over the counter.
