I went to my LLMD dr. on Friday experiencing for the last month or so a hearing loss.....I'm on zithromax, flaggyl, and diflucan for the Lyme and yeast....he tested me for co-infections and sent to Igenex but won't get the results for 2 weeks.......

I thought I was maybe having a side effect of the medications like tinnitus.....he says no......it's a hearing loss....I'm scheduled to go to a ENT specialist this Wednesday......please inform me if any of you have or had this particular problem dealing with Lyme and lots of abx.......

I'm sorry you are going through this, too. My daughter has had a hearing loss, too. She ended up going to an ENT specialty group (above regular ENT). He gave it another name than Lyme, but said he didn't know if it was from the LD or not, but was interested in the LD (didn't poo hoo it at all). He said her hearing (which was definately bad enough for hearing aides on one ear, and probably both) said her hearing sadly would not return to normal. However he was wrong! He was shocked. He told her to really cut the salt, caffeine, and fats in her diet. When she does her hearing is fine. When she doesn't her hearing get's bad again.

I hope your hearing returns too!!!!!!

I don't think it is the abx.

I had hearing loss many times before finally being dx and treated.

I saw one ENT who said that when people come to him with a pattern of hearing such as I have he thinks lyme disease.
