Sorry I haven't responded sooner to your request for info. Pretty bad ups and downs lately.

Insurance paid for 4 weeks IV treatment. No extension as requested by LLMD. Will not pay for IM antibiotics. I pay put of pocket for that and recently have started to deny other oral antibiotics. I have not started to fight the insurance co yet. Too tired but I will fight soon.

Have lost very substantial income for the last 10 months

Misdiagnosed by neuro(MS) pcp and others. finally llmd gave me Elisa, IGg IGM and all were positive along with clinical diagnosis.

Would be happy to provide tincup more detailed info if helpful.

Thanks for being here

BC/BS of Ala. paid the entire amount of my wifes illness, which included 7 months of IV and 7 months of our LLMD's charges. They also paid 1 years worth of useless neuro charges which ran much higher than the LLMD's charges.

Insurance is very good about dr appointments, but argues significantly about expensive medications (Diflucan for exammple). Also, they will do things like top out "durable medical equipment" at 1500.00 instead of denying the Rocephin.

I have had to an continue to pay for certain lab tests

I've been on oral abx since December, 2003. I also did 12 weeks of IV Rocephin. My insurance is BC/BS, and they have paid everything except my $20 office visits and the 10% I pay for out-of-network expenses. A bottle of Mepron costs me $40. Generic meds are $10. Name brand cost $25. My biggest expense was the home nurse who put my IV needle in for me on Monday mornings. That company billed BC/BS $1300/week for their service. I believe that may have included the Rocephin. I paid about $150 of that.

So far, I have no complaints with my insurance coverage. I have the PPO plan, not the HMO.

I THINK Tincup wants you to respond on the link she provided. And a simple YES or NO is what she needs most......Then follow with explanation if you desire.

Shut me up if this is wrong, TC!
