Hello, my name is Lynne and I am new to this site. My wonderful daughter who attends school in NY researched the web due to her concerns regarding my consistent medical problems. I was finally diagnosed with LD
in Dec04 after my neurologist could not explain why I had one lesion on my brain in Dec03 and as of Nov04 now have 8. He kept
rejecting my suggestion of LD due to other symptoms that I was dealing with. Finally
I went to a lyme literate doc in Kenett Square, PA who has been treating me for LD.
He is absolutely wonderful - - Dr. F.

My daughter recommended this site so that I would have something to do during my 2 -3 am wake up time. Beyond the everchanging symptoms I face each day, I was wondering if anyone else has suffered from a similar rash
(which began in 8/04). I have done everything I can think of it relieve it. It started out as small bumps which itch constantly and are confined to my scalp and back. They eventually turn into scabs.
I would really appreciate any feedback from someone else who has encountered this.
Thanks and god bless you all that suffer from this horrible disease.;
Lynne

Lynne, hello and welcome. I don't have any advice about your rash, but something else in your post caught my attention.

I've learned alot about parasites in the last few months. It is coming up on the sixth year that I've been ill. Wake ups between 2-3 am are an indication of parasites.

I know your main focus if the lyme thing and you're thinking parsites, what in the world is this woman talking about. When that bug bit you it didn't just leave one bacteria, one virus, it left you with several bad guys.

Please read this post. If I can find the site that talks about the parasites and 2-3 am wake ups, I'll post it for you.

Here's the site Lynne.
http://www.curezone.com/diseases/parasites/

Read the heading What are the symptoms of intestal parasites. While I was looking for this site I also saw references to parasites causing skin/rash problems.

Hi,

Could your rash be shingles? I have them frequently....(doctor thinks it's shingles anyway) Mine usually do not hurt....start out as small itchy bumps and then scab....get them on my back, neck head and shoulder. Valtrex (sp?) helps, also extra Vitamin C, and Lysine. Ice and capricin cream (not when skin is broken) help too....

Good luck

Thanks so much Pam,
The inforation you sent me was shocking to some extent to know there are other parasites in my body but at least now I can
try and do something about them.\
Again thanks for the info. I guess I am really a novice as far as understanding what is happening to my body.

Can I ask you one other thing . . . did you experience a balance problem followed by severe pains in your leg muscles which seem to start at the top and move downward?

Lynne

I did have the shingles as well but they disappeared within 2 weeks.
Thanks, Lynne

Lynne,
I have had the same symptoms. The itchy scalp with the scabs is disgusting. I have jusy chalked it up to Lyme playing games with the skin.

Lynne, I've had extreme muscle pain in arms and legs. Every few weeks the pain would also involve the long bones in arms and legs. My shin bones expecially.

Can't say that I experienced the balance thing then the pain, like you.

Was your gut feeling after reading about parasites, that it is one of your problems?

Pam,
After reading the article on parasites im attributing alot of my symptoms to the parasites as opposed to LD

Hi,

Lyme can micmic many things. I have had all kinds of skin symptoms, alot of it ended up being lyme. I thought I had shingles too, but didn't as I test negative and have never had chicken pox so can't get shingles.

Lyme plays with the skin too. People who are sick, lymies included may have more parasites than well people as our bodies are under attack so to speak and have a harder time keeping things like this under control.

I was getting bad rash on my head, to this day I don't know for sure if lyme, but improves on abx, so must be bacteria related. When you heal from lyme it is surpurising to learn how much of what was going on was lyme related. This has been the case for me and I have not finished treatment yet.

I get red burning/itchy rash when I herx. Just recently found out it was lyme related kept thinking I had something else on top of it. It doesn't get severe now but was last year. Facial rashes, nose rashes, acne like skin eruptions. Never had eczema until I was bit by some ticks at 16, or asthma, or tonsitltis, bronchitis, or a bladder infection. Which all came on within 18 mths after being repeatly bitten by cat ticks.

Hope you feel better soon and try not to stress to much as lyme can make you crazy wondering what this and that is, I know, been there done that.

Take Care
Lymiecanuck

Yeast can cause rashes too and not just down there either. Many have yeast issues even if not on abx at the time, but from many years of abx for this and that which was lyme rearing it's ugly head when getting a bad cold that goes into infection.

Thanks so much for your response. Actually
it is just a relief speaking with people that have similar symptoms. At times I thought I was going crazy but now I know the problems were related to either the LD or parasites. There are times I have just wanted to give up. I want to be who I was before. But I get over that and I am determined to fight this thing! It is amazing how many people do not know anything about LD. Thanks for taking the time to resond. You take care as well, Lynne
