I was wondering if there are any side effects or dangers to brushing your mouth and tongue in peroxide.

My tongue has been really white and yucky looking. So, I started brushing it about once a week when it gets really bad. I brush and rinse well, then repeat. It really does the trick.

Has anyone else tried this or know why I shouldn't do it? I read about a bleach mixture, but the idea of putting that in my mouth scares me.

Thanks

I have swished and brushed with peroxide for yeast. It is ok. I wouldn't do it too often. Although, I know people who have use nothing but baking soda and peroxide on their teeth for years, mostly those who were born pre-Crest.

The bleach/water solution certainly works. But, it leaves your mouth tasting like the inside of a washing machine after a white load. I only use that solution when nothing else works. It's a little scary.

Thanks Beachcomber,
I wanted to make sure I wasn't doing anything that would cause more damage.
