Windering how accurate the Bowen Babesia test is.

Supposedly, they test for all strains of Babs.

So if you get a negative result, does that mean that there were zero protozoa in the sample?

Or could they have missed it?

they can see all of the babs, not only the WA-1 and the Microti. We found them after a doctor told us about this lab and have not used any other lab since.
They found not only babs for me but HME and HGE and of course lyme.
They saved my life.

If you have a small amount of babs, sometimes you need to wait to have it appear.
Bowen just received its patent in January 2005 and is waiting for the FDA approval.

My LLMD said it is reliable for Babesia. I know some European Lymies who have has Babesia forms show up so it does not just show WA-1 and Microti presumably.

After they receive your blood, your doctor gets a preliminary report that shows all of your Lyme, babs, hge and hme.

Then about a week later your doctor received the colored pictures of what is in your blood. Really gross. My latest picture was a cyst form of lyme. Really gross to see what you are carrying in your blood.

My llmd says everything is positive at Bowen, & they'll never get FDA approval.....

I called em to find a Doc close by, they gave me 4, all were bogus.

I'll always give Bowen the credit for making such a big difference in my health.

In the 1990s, I had negative tests for Babesia at a couple reputable Lyme labs.

Possibly, there is a different strain in the South that is not picked up by tests checking for Microti and WA-1 strains.
We have a Lyme-like illness in the South that is not picked up by the usual LD tests.

In 2001, had Bowen tests done & they found I was positive for Lyme & also positive for Babesia. Negative for both Ehrlichiosis.

It wasn't until I was diagnosed & treated for Babesiosis & Bartonella (test at MDL) that I got off antibiotics.
I've been off for 2 years.

Thank you, Bowen Lab for your part in improving my health!!

But most of all, I thank the people on LymeNet who have so generously shared info about labs, Tick-Borne Diseases, diagnosis, treatment, and LLMDs.
They've saved my life & saved my grandson's life, too!!!

Don't want to mislead anyone. I am not over my Lyme yet. In the last 6 months or so, very mild symptoms have been creeping back.
Not bad considering I've had LD since the late 1970s or early 1980s, with no diagnosis & treatment until 1992.

It doesn't bother me that I'll have to treat again. I consider myself one of the lucky ones......at least I know what my problem is.
Too many people are still going from dr to dr & not getting the correct diagnosis & treatment.
I'm counting my blessings!!!
