i've had an enlarged spleen before and it hurt - and guess what - here it is again.

My left side is killing me - i can't sit comfortably - under my ribs and even around my back this time.

does this mean it's really enlarged?
all of my other lymph nodes are swollen too - neck, armpits, etc.

LLMD actually ran an EBV test - he thinks I may have an active virus in addition to the lyme...

WHAT CAN I DO to relieve this pain?

Thanks
Jess

Sorry abt the pain... hopefully others with more knowledge will reply, but for my first reaction, I'd say heat.

Try a detox bath...
1 C epsom salt
1 C sea salt
1C aloe juice
1C baking soda

You can use all of these, or a combination of what you have at home.

After bathing, apply a thick layer of caster oil to the painful area. Cover it with a cloth. ...Wash clothes work well..

then put a heating pad over the area to keep it warm, and keep youself cozy

Drink lots of weak organic green tea made with simmered not boiled water
( keeps the caffine out), and alternate with water.

I hope you are more comfortable soon!

is it normal for caffeine to make my lymph nodes hurt? i think it hurts worse after i drink my coffee.
is that weird?

could be your kidneys, may have kidney stones if lower quadrant above hip and below spleen.
sometimes stones cause pain on urination, very common to get stones with lyme.
they can do a xray with barium to se if it is spleen or kidneys, go to urologist or internal medicine they can dx.
you can't dx over the internet.
caffeine will effect kidney stones, i think it might constrict the urinary ducts.
a very good internists should be able to tell by palpatation of the spleen and kidneys.
are you running a temp? low grade usually is sign of infection.
can run white blood count to determine if infection or something else.

my normal temp is 96 or so
i have a low grade temp at the LLMDs office on monday.

i still have it......

of course it didn't hurt when i saw him, it started tuesday.

however my WBC is low - not high.

strange stuff?

Sorry to hear you are hurting. I have the same thing going on (6 mths). It is much milder now but I decided to have it checked out. I am scheduled for a CT on Tuesday. I will let you know what they find if anything.

So far every problem that they have explored comes up negative since they were caused by the lyme. Almost all of my symptoms have disappeared. This one, left arm muscle burning and right knee pain are all I have left. Ya!!
