Just wondering whether others are suffering from pain in fingers and hands. It feels both muscular and related to the joints, it has caused my typing and handwriting to get worse.

Lars:

Try Flagyll and physical therapy wax heat wraps, also a good quality multi- vitamin and minerals seemed to help me but I'd have to say the Flagyll works the best. My doc said the dormant Lyme goes in your joints.

Hope that helps, Renee

I had that terrible pain in my hands and fingers! Do your hands feel week also?

Anyway on the 5th week of Biaxin xl 500 2x a day. The pain went away!!!!!

I'm now at the end of my 8th week and still no pain.

Pain in the hands was around for over a year before dx with Lyme.

Do you have vitamins, probiotics and detox treatments?

WELCOME To LYMENET

Here's more goodys! A typical response to newcomers.

Hi and WELCOME! Get a LLMD or at least Dr that is willing to learn about lyme. Borrelia Burgdorferi is a clinical diagnosis, based on symptoms and on your response to treatment. Good Luck, bumpy road ahead.

Post for a LLMD in Seeking a Doctor. Ps remember I am not a Dr, just a fellow sufferer.

Lars,

I was basically debilitated because of the pain in my hands and wrists. It was hard to describe, because I couldn't tell what really was hurting. My hands were stiff, and it felt like it hurt all along the skeleton of the hand.

I discovered my hand and wrist pain was primarily referred pain from myofascial trigger points in my upper back and shoulder. My muscles were so tight and inflamed in that area, that they put pressure on nerves and cause pain in the hands.

At one point, I basically lost the use of my hands. I had worn braces for almost a year for a misdiagnosis of tendonitis. I couldn't hold a newspaper or a fork on most days.

I eventually found relief, through a combination of a muscle relaxer, hands on physical therapy, stretching and strengthening.
