Well, I said I would stop by every so often, so I have, to offer a bit of hope for those trying to get well.
I have been off abx for a little over 2 years now.
My health is 100%. I am in many ways healthier then pre-Lyme, accept for all the gray hair that came on quickly as I recovered from Lyme.
I had Lyme at least 10 months untreated, then dx by LLMD.
I took abx to some extent for almost 9 months.
The first 6 weeks at a ducky, low dose of Doxy.
I had the best results taking Doxy at up to 600 mg per day. Hex time each dose.
I took Bromelain with abx for better tissue penatration.
I took and continue to take many supplements.
Take Green food Supplements!
Take Tons of probiotics. Always take a few brands at once, with Primal Defense as one of them.
You must exercise to clean out the bug.
You will increase blood flow and tissue penatration.
Take abx and exercise with it at peak levels.
Do what ever you can as heat will make the Bb very mad and want to go away, hence the herx from heat.
When I went off abx on my own, I was out of money, and quit going to LLMD and frusrtated with LLMD for not including anything but abx in my treatment.
Working out finished what the abx began.
But when off aby I ate tons of fruit and veggies, no meat at all for a while.
I also had all amalgams removed and had homeopthic detox during other treatment.
Well thats about it for now.
Keep the Faith!
Positive thought is required to get well!
Regards, Jon

Glad your doing so great...You gave me (and I'm sure many others here) hope!
Have a healthy, happy life and I wish you the best!
Thanks again for coming back to post.

Glad to hear you are doing well.
The exercise thing is interesting.
I went for a big walk yesterday and today my whole body feels like it is on fire and aching and so tired.I thought the same thing that the keets were not liking it.So as soon as I have the energy shall do it again.I really enjoyed it but today is a different story.
Take care,Sue from Downunder.
I'm curious, did you have many symptoms when you stopped antibiotics?
did you feel better right away?
I'm teetering on the edge of just giving up on antibiotics and trying to boost my immune system through exercise, healthy eating, etc.
would love to hear your more details on your diet/exercise regimen!
thanks!!
Jess
That's great news...
As you know I was late stage untreated Lyme
(many autoimmune mis dx in my past).
I am happy to report that I was 1 year off abx, and 100% symptom free..during 2004
t I went back on abx a month ago for what is suspected to be an ACA rash. Other than that I am still feeling great. Ad I'm just weaning off abx for that now.
Glad you're checking back in and glad you're doing well.
Barb
What green food supplement do you take? I agree with the probiotics I take primal defense only. What other probiotics do you recommend taking with primal defense?
Thanks
Thanks for popping in now and then. It's nice to hear from old Lymies who haven't forgot about us. So nice to know you're doing so well.
Thanks for all the kind words,
hello to new and old friends.
I did have some symptoms when I quit abx.
I still had head ache- pressure in head feeling.
I had some joint issues, soreness.
Plus a few other things.
I was unsure after a while if they were symptom or side effects from abx, so I quit abx to see.
It took a some number of months to fully recover.
I dont have any brand name on the green food supplent, just I picked really good ones.
The expensice ones are unfortunately likely to be the best in this case.
Anyway, I would be happy to chat if anyone in interested, email me.
Regards, Jon
Your infrequent posts always give me hope.
My adjunctive (to abx) protocol is similar to yours, especially the exercise. My MD tried, to no avail, to talk me out of exercising for a while. I honestly believe that the reason I can walk into the infusion center on my own two feet every week is because I never stopped exercising. I see others who have Lyme shuffling or in wheelchairs and their spirit is gone.
You need oxygen to keep your brain thinking clearly and your blood moving. Even though I sometimes pay dearly the day after I run or swim, I still think my body recovers faster from insult, injury, stress and herxes.
On the achy days I talk myself into doing at least 20 minutes of yoga stretches and I always feel better after, even if just for a few hours.
My MD is now thinking twice about the importance of moving vs. bed rest. Although he still says, "Can't you just slow it down a little"? ;-)
Keep motivating us, Jon.

At the same time I'm jealous or something.
When I read your post I heard voice saying, "Damn, I hope I can post such a note one day."
I've only been doing abx for 8 months, and I know I'm still a newbie. But I'm really getting tired of taking all those pills.
I'm going through detoxification (chelation) using a low dose DMSA approach. I had very elevated levels of mercury and elevated levels of lead and alum.
My mouth is full of amalgam. I've been thinking about have the fillings replaced, but have decided against it for the time being.
I believe that it's possible to keep the mercury levels down by constantly taking supplements (e.g., chlorella) which will remove the mercury faster than it is "supplied" from the fillings.
What sort of detoxification program did your NP prescribe for you?
Michael
You helped at the beginning of my battle. Spent several hours on the phone with me.
Thank you so much............
I am still fighting......and getting there.
It is great that you keep coming back....I will do the same.
With much gratitude,
robi
So glad you stopped by with your terrific
news. Am glad that you are well and are
sharing with the rest of us.
Godspeed. Enjoy your life, Jon. Are you
still in school? I would never take life
for granted again and seize the day.

And Jon you encouraged me two and a half years ago to make the trip to the E Coast to see your LLMD. I finally did and learned a lot. I will keep consulting w him over time.
I hope someday to be well like you. For now, yup I do agree re: the exercise. I have a very vigorous and intense yoga practice. Sometimes I'm very stiff and its much harder than other times. But after I always feel remarkably better.
Continue being well and inspiring us all!

Never let anyone say it cant be done- you can get well regardless of your situation.
Remember, to achieve wellness-- one simple objective must be reached---Make healthy cells!
If you can begin to make new cells healthy,
then wellness will follow.
Green food supplements are a group of
highly active organisms.
They are considered superfoods by many people. Most NDs take some form of them daily for thier own health.
They include bluegreen algea, wheat grass, chorella, etc. They can be taken seperately or as a blend.
They are not cheap, but are available at all health food stores.
They help to bulid immune function and detox.
Keep the faith- remember the mind is the boss of the body!
Never ever give up- or give in -to the hope of being 100% well. Have faith in your bodies ability to heal itself - if allowed to do so.
Have a great day.
Regards, Jon
To the top one more time----------
To cast a ray of hope, for those in need!
Be well, get well!
