Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I the search button still isn't working...
I went for a very long period of time without having any dreams (or memorable dreams) and after starting treatment with abx I've had the most vivid dreams every night. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this or could it be just from taking an anti-anxiety medication?
Also, I've been having terrible night sweats recently-not so much my forehead, but my whole body is drenched a couple of times each night. I've noticed that it's worse when I'm PMSing-is this fairly common? I feel shaky, tired and weak all day long and I'm getting a little worried...
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
It can be because of medications. I had anxiety dreams from Vioxx. Every night I had at least one, the day I stopped taking Vioxx, I stopped having anxiety dreams. So you may want to experiment to determine if it is caused by a med.
I'll definitely try the alcohol & water spray and I'm going to be switching over from Effexor XR to something my doc suggested that is fairly new on the market for anxiety and also neurological "pains" that are caused by fibromyalgia (because she still won't treat me for lyme!) It seems that no matter what anti anxiety meds I try, they still don't seem to take away all of my symptoms.
about the night sweats, this is THE deffinitave symptom of babesia. babesia is similar to mylaria which you also get sweats with as well. good docotors will ask you if you get night sweats to see if you have babesia. i had this problem, and took the specific antibiotics and got better. it actually has been coming back a bit, but it seems to get improving now. drenched a couple of times a night doesnt sound good, you should take care of that.
Same thing has been happening to me for a few years now, off and on. Definitely a side effect of anti-anxiety meds and some antibiotics, and even perimenopause, but...I have recently found in lab tests that I have a very high cortisol level, indicating a problem with my adrenal gland, and these are also symptoms of problems with the adrenal gland. Those of us with chronic disease can have a worn out adrenal, causing problems like this. I happen to have an appointment tomorrow with an endocrinologist to find out if there is anything I can do about it. Just thought you might want to look into that possibility, too, since we are all "in the same boat" with Lyme wearing us down! good luck. Lori
Please try and find yourself an LLMD. I was treated by a pain specialist who was convinced I had fibromyalgia. The anti-depressants and anti-anxiety didn't do anything but cause side effects.
If your pain isn't fibro pain, I don't think these drugs do help.
I did have testing by a LLMD some time ago through MDL and both PCR and bloodwork came up negative for babesia so I assumed that I didn't have it. Just wondering if it's as hard to catch as lyme???
Thanks!
Yeah well first it was the Lyme, now its the anti-depressants. At least I had 4 months in between that was good sleep.
Thanks!
When people don't remember their dreams at all, it can be from a lack of B-6. Chronic lyme would deplete your B-6 , and taking abx can stop the buggers from using up your B vitamins
The Lyme test is completely different from the babesia test.
