Sorry guys, I have been ultra sick after stopping IV abx. Relapse started in about 2 weeks after stoping IV. Now On iv doxy + high dose bart and bab treatment and waiting to see what happens.

Particularly sick at night....

I just sort of dropped the threads I was participating in....sorry about that.

From skiing to not even able to drive in less than 4 weeks.... crap.....

Hoping things settle down for you.

I worry about people who disappear from a forum, for just this reason.

Of course, sometimes they are off in Hawaii surfing.

David,

This is exactly what happened to my husband when he came of IV Rocephin last year. Within 4 weeks he went from running and biking every day to almost bed ridden. It happened overnight. On August 10th he started to not feel good, and on August 11th he was too sick to get up. He has not been able to come out of it since, 8 months later. He is now on IV Doxy 400 mg day and babs treatment with Mepron, Zith, Samento and Artiminisin.

We too are hoping that this combo will enable him to return to a life, so we wait.

We continue to be amazed that he was 2 weeks from known tick bite to bedridden. It is 20 months now.

Hope you feel better soon.

David, I'm so sorry to hear it. Such a terrifically discouraging blow.

We had exactly the same experience with rocephin, even though we did flagyl concurrently to address the cyst form.

Doxy was much much more effective in the long run for us, and it's my belief (just my belief) that if we'd addressed coinfections at that time and then the cyst form, we'd be done by now.

Doing tons better now on bicillin and after tx for babs and bart. Still on abx, though, so we'll see.

It's amazing how far down you can go, and come back, and down again...

The babs and bart tx made us feel awful during the first few months each -- but we did babs first and then bart (concurrent with bicillin). Both together would have laid me out completely.

Hang in there. Take care of your liver and kidneys (flushes helped us). Stay out of the sun!
