How long does the rash form a tick bite stay for? I have been on abx for almost 3 months and the rash is still there, it fades in and out?

I've been on 2 abx & benicar for 8 months. Still get the rashes; they come & go.

Mine are 2-3 weeks then gone for 4-6 weeks; my elbow areas are the areas affected right now.

When my rash started it was on L elbow; went to R. elbow; my chest/stomach, left & right knee areas.

Bettyg:

How long have you had Lyme?

Is yours a raised non-itching rash
(like the inflammatory starge of ACA?)

I have a rash at the site of the tickbite (my cheek) since 4 or 5 years. I'm in treatment since October 03 and getting overall better but this darn rash doesn't fade away.

Sometimes it's paler but every 3-4 weeks it gets redder, dry and itchy. At the same time I get a numb feeling from the cheek to my ear. And it is still getting bigger. First it was a small red spot, got bigger, then got a clearing (bullseye). Now, it has separated in three isolated spots.

Sometimes, a part of the rash is getting blueish. It stays like that some months before this part is fading away.

I wonder if it ever will disappear. When I think about it that my derma duck said 5 days of Doxy would be enough for the rash to go away

My initial Lyme rash lasted for 9 months.
I now have another one, smaller in size, but same characteristics. I know mine was a lyme rash because I removed the tick from the original site.

I am discouraged with the appearance of the secomd rash because it just reminds me of the ordeal I will have to go through again.

The second rash has been present for 7 months now. I think the time the rashes can last is very variable.

My rash has been with me now for 6 years- ever since I got bitten. We're quite close! If I take certain medications(like Flagyl) it will flare up again ,get bright red and itchy. Otherwise, it's clearly noticeable-like a constant reminder of this horrible disease.

Wow, finally someone in the same boat.

Jo, how is the rest of you? I mean, are you better from treatment, are you well or still sick? Since when do you treat?

Theres no magic answer to that, unfortunately.

ive had a rash on my foot that actually came out the day I started abx. Im unsure if it was there prior to starting them.

After 18 months of abx, its STILL there. It comes and goes, fades, then comes back and turns purple, BRIGHT purple.

I recently learned this isnt a lyme rash at all, its a tag along coinfection rash- bartonella.

Theres no set time for when it will go away.

I can judge by the rash on my foot whether or not I am going to have a good day, believ eit or not:

if its out and bright purple- I might as well get back into bed
If I can't see it- I will have agood day.

It has never failed me yet. But it persists and keeps coming back.

Crime,

I'm quite sure I've got Bartonella, too. Does your rash itch when it's bright red?

I had mine biopsied and they didn't find any Lyme (but was on abx at the time). Are there somewhere pictures of a Bartonella rash? How did you find out yours was from Bart?

I've been wondering sometimes too, if it might be Bart (but the white clearing looks more like Lyme).

Loverell;

Ray Dattwyler testified under oath that Lyme in central and peripheral nerves can cause widespread rashes.

My rashes persisted 7 years, during which time they turned rough and became tumor-like.

University-based physicians said they were not Lyme but NHL.

In 2002-04 the tumors and rashes left, for which I am thankful.

I took bee venom shots in my back and into the rashes (which were on my legs).

A pH neutralizer & antibiotics also helped.

Neil

Hi Barb, sorry I didn't get back to this post sooner so didn't see your question until now.

I've had lyme for 34 yrs misdx the entire time until 7-04.

Mine ITCHES nonstop for the 2 weeks of inflammation, and red hot as well as red in color. I just got over the latest event yesterday. Last weekend, I couldn't itch it enough and put med, eberol, sp, on it.

Also, get plenty of those little bumps looking like pimples. That's how I know it's going to be red/itching very shortly.

Been like this for 8 years now. Started reacting this water after hot water exercising & using spa.

Neil Martin, I hope you come here again. Would you edit your post to SHORTEN the length of the LONG link so the screen does NOT go extra wide so we can read it. I can not read scrolling left/right for each sentence. Thanks a bunch.

Bettyg ... I do want to see what a BART rash looks like.
