i also went on vacation the same place 5 years ago never been sick in the past 5 yrs or really any in my life? is it possible i got it 5 years ago and it just showed up?
the reason i wonder is i have a 4 yr old daughter and it scares me to think if i had it then? she had never been sick, i find myself watchin every move she maks lately to see if anything is wrong. i feel like i am going crazy?
i did have a small bruise lookin rash to when i came back.
i feel like i want to test her just to make sure? can any one please give me some advice?
i also seem to have gotten aleast 20 symptons of lyme in less then a month is that possible for it to hit you that fast?
i see where people go for years, not knowing what they have, does everyone not get hit this hard or fast???????
That is what happened to me, in hind sight I had minor lyme symptoms for years before the dx. When it Lyme came, it came hard and there was no denying it the lyme was easy to diagnosis myself before going to the dr very textbook symptoms all of a sudden.
some people are bitten and are in bed in a week not being able to move. some people are bitten and never show any symptoms at all.
best of luck...
Wife got sick in Jan. Became paralyzed over the course of 2 minutes. I witnessed the whole thing.
Kids and I got sick in Feb. I woke up one morning at 2am with fever and ringing in my ears, tingling in my legs. Never been the same since.
We are all getting better, but its slow. I've been in treatment over a year.
I think it depends on the strain you are exposed to. Ours was very sudden, and mostly neurological problems. I've heard of people who have joint type issues. These seem to sometimes develop over a long period of time with (sometimes very long) periods of remission.
We camp every year in Southeast CT. My LLMD thinks that many times people are exposed and don't have any symptoms. Its when they are exposed multiple times or with other infections is when they get really sick. Almost like a booster shot, but in reverse.

As a child I was literally thrown out in the yard when i was a kid--it was nothing to pull a couple of ticks off a week. I remember having some LD symptoms but never told anyone. But I didn't get really sick until my pregnancies--although my thyroid wnet hyper in my teens and 20s and then hypo in my 30s--I didn't know my thyroid was screwed up--now think the LD is what "turned" that auto-immune on. Pregnancy started the ball rolling and then the thyroid, AEB, and LD really hit hard.
It's been a struggle every since.

I didn't recognize these as Lyme symptoms. I was looking for a bullseye rash, fever & joint pain but I didn't get any of those "classic" symptoms.
3 1/2 weeks after the bite I got Bell's Palsy and went rapidly downhill from there.
