I just can't take it anymore. I hurt so bad and I don't know what to do. I know I need to start antibiotics, but now I am wondering if that will even help-doesn't sound encouraging. My stomach and everything hurts so dang bad that I can't stand it!!! My endoscope is Thursday but I can't get my ultrasound for another 2 weeks. I am so miserable I just want to die. Im only 32 and I hate every last stinking bit of all of this. How am I supposed to take care of 3 young kids when I feel this awful??? How am I supposed to go on therapy when my whole abdominal area is so torn up it can't even handle water right now? I feel so hopeless.

Nancy,
I am so sorry you are going thru this. Lyme is an awful process.
I am not endorsing any product. Having said that my chiro put me on something from the company Metagenics called SUSTAIN. It has made all the difference with my stomach/intestine pain.
I wish you well.
Blessings,
Marblenose

Hey Nancy:

Antiobiotics do HELP! Hang in there, I have been on treatment 9 months and everytinhg is better, pain is mostly gone most of the time.

Ask family, friends, neighboors to help you with the kids is really hard, but you have to keep going for them and also for yourself, they need you. I think the worst part of this disease is the lack of hope, but believe me there is help and hope but you have to be strong, determined to get well, endure the treatment and advocate for yourself. Don't give up!

YOU CAN DO IT!

Hey, it WILL get better.

Is there a possibility you have H. Pylori, which can give you a sore stomach? If so, that is also treated with antibiotics.

My daughter had those symptoms plus many more for a year. Aciphex for the acidity/gastritis and Pentasa for the colitis/abdominal pain took care of most of the GI symptoms. Doxy 200 mg 2 times a day is what finally helped her with everything, then after two months she was switched to Mino. The treatment started 3 months ago. Her GI symptoms greatly decreased shortly after the GI medication were started, and they are almost gone today now that she has been on antibiotics for 3 months and a half. Good luck.

There are many on this board who like you have felt hopeless. Many of those same folks no longer post because they are now leading productive lives. You can get better. You have three precious reasons to keep on fighting. Never ever let this disease get the upper hand. We all hate "every stinking bit of it", but I am looking towards that day when it will all be only a memory, and you should too.

I guess you are taking the probiotics such as yogurt. That should calm your stomach and intestines down. Only the soy type since the milk might also hurt your stomach.

Tough through it all. It hurts but is worth it eventually. Have you tested with Bowen labs? Have your doctor call 1-727-937-9077 and get a kit to have your blood drawn. That way you will know what you are dealing with plus if you have coinfections. You will actually see the pictures. My last test in December showed an L form coming out of the cell. It looked like a tongue. It was gross.

Much wellness to you.

Sweetheart, don't give up. We all know how hard this is.

I called the dr.s office the morning I was finally diagnosed, crying hysterically, I was in so much pain.

I've had ulcers and if that's what you have there are meds to help that now. Antibiotics will help too.

as for the abdominal pain whatever the cause run don't walk to the nearest dr and ask for Bentyl, 20 mg pills. It is a stomach relaxer and I believe will help you with the pain and anxiety that goes with it. This one is the most important one so don't blow it off.

Are you nauseated and if you are, ask for, and this one is new and miraculous, Zofran.

It was originally for chemotherapy patients and they found it safe even for morning sickness.

I take it for migraine nausea. It's the best thing since chocoalite. There are no side effects and it doesn't make you sleepy. All it does is make the nausea go away.

If you are one of the few that it doesn't work for ask for Compazine. That's an old tried and true, low side effect anti-nausea med. and it will help your spastic stomach and intesines too. You can take it with the Bentyl.

Make them give you something now, there is no point in suffering needlessly and I guarantee you if they or their children were suffering like you are they would be taking all this and more.

Antibioitcs will make you better, they always do and usually pretty fast, especially the pain part. Get your a%$ in gear girl now. love kat

My insides were so bad it felt like I was being alive from the inside out. A few weeks of abx and primal defense helped alot. I had problems after but it was so much better.

I have H.pylori twice, and this and lyme can mess up your gut. I often wonder if lyme goes for the GI first before moving around. So if you have both as I did this will be bad, but it will get better when treated. Abx at this point would be good, even if only prescribed for GI issues.

Hang in there,
Lymiecanuck

Hey Nal,I am so so sorry for your pain.I know how you feel and with the children, that can really be tough.

Do stick with your Lyme treatment.

Can you seek some help with the little ones until you get back on your feet?I hope so,then you can take care of you.

I remember when I first started to get really sick and I fretted about my children.

Friends, family, camps, seek help, things will look up and know we are thinking of you!

Iam sorry for your pain so sorry.
But you mention how am I going to take care of my kids if sick ?

Well how can you take care of them if your crippled or dead from lyme?
You must get a LLMD and begin treatment if you have lyme it may take awhile for it to take you down but it never stops coming at you.
Please seek treatment the longer you wait the harder it will be.

Seek out a support group in your area lyme or even a church with real christians.

And ask for help everyone needs help sometimes .

Praying for you.

WELCOME To LYMENET

Here's more goodys! A typical response to newcomers.

Hi and WELCOME! Get a LLMD or at least Dr that is willing to learn about lyme. Borrelia Burgdorferi is a clinical diagnosis, based on symptoms and on your response to treatment. Good Luck, bumpy road ahead.

Post for a LLMD in Seeking a Doctor. Ps remember I am not a Dr, just a fellow sufferer.

Hi Nal - I hear you loud and clear believe me. I have had this stomach stuff too and it is a huge drag as well as gets in the way of your healing.

I was prescribed mepron/zith/septra. My stomach started bothering me a lot - I was freaking out that maybe I had a Cdiff infection. I remember in the beginning when a vet diagnosed me and gave me a little doxy that my stomach felt better so I tried it again.

Guess what!!! In two days my stomach was back to normal and this made me realize it wasn't the antibiotics tearing up my stomach but the Ehrlichia and/or the lyme. So my LLMD and I both decided doxy is definitely one of my drugs of choice.

Take care and I hope you feel better. Just don't make any assumptions that this is from the antibiotic treatment alone or at all. My doxy lesson taught me this. I just re-read your post and realize that you haven't started antibiotics at all - I can tell you antibiotics are the only thing that is making my stomach and intestinal track feel better - but the right one - Doxy happens to be that one for me - could be different for you.

Good luck with the endoscopy - I had one before I knew what I had tick borne illness -it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be. They reported that I had GERD and I was drilling them - but why - I don't drink coffee - don't have acid reflux - now I know it was probably the lyme.

Take care and don't give up. We have all been there at one time or another. I am sure I will be there again at some point...You can do this. You will prevail

Nancy, glad you posted about how bad you feel to those who have/are walking in your shoes. They provide the best advise.

I've had 2 endoscopies done. First, make sure they put you out completely. WHY? Since I can't reach level 4 sleep, I heard the dr. talking to me the whole time!

"Breath Betty" 7 times over & over & later told him this too. You heard that? Yes.

They found this "unknown" spot & I needed to come back 6 months & repeat it; I did & same thing.

1 year later needed surgery for colon polyp at end of area, so while they were removing the polyp, they removed my appendix, & I asked surgeon to go up in that area & check this "unknown" growth.

Well, guess what? It's FATTY tissue folds! What a joke!! Glad the surgeon did that for me so I didn't have to repeat endo again.

Speaking of endo! Do you have a small mouth or a larger one? Mine is small but they used the LARGER device to put the tube down 1st time. I had them use SMALLER one next time, and my mouth didn't hurt like 1st tme.

Best wishes & hang in there for yourself as wel as your 3 precious kids.

Bettyg

Hi Nancy

I can't tell you how sorry I am to hear you are so terribly sick. Don't give up though. I had to raise little kids too when I was at my sickest. Somehow I managed, and without going into details I was VERY sick.

Notice that I used the words "had" and "was". I am about 95% well now, but I had been knocking on deaths door. I feel a little odd talking to you here because I have not been officially diagnosed with Lyme, but I am a pretty classic case and know of at least one tick bite. I am defintly FM/CFS and even if I didn't have Lyme the treatments are very close.

Getting well is going to take a bit of time and you need to set little goals for yourself, don't expect anything major over night. It sounds like your stomach is a mess and from what I have learned in getting myself well is the stomach needs to be healed so that you can work with meds and supplements. One of my wonder supplements are digestive enzymes. I know loads about them, so if you would like to know more let me know. Really simple, but major benefits.......again with some time.

The next thing is, you likely have hypercoagulation which is common in chronic infection. There are ways of dealing with this naturally. I also know loads about this if you would like to know more.

Once you deal with these 2 things then you will have a fighting chance with ABX. If you would like to know more please feel free to ask. Just don't give up. One foot in front of the other, but you can get better, I am living proof.

Hi,

Ditto to the above and hang in there. My stomach hurt so bad almsot 2 years ago for a long long time...it was no fun!

Have you seen your LLMD yet? I'm assuming your going to see the ones in CS?

Call them ASAP and start treating the lyme.

I started tx in August of 04 and am doing better but still have some rough days. I could barely walk last summer and am able to getting around fine except for some occasional pain.

Marblenose is right Sustain is a good product and did help a lot.

Hope your feeling better soon!

Nal, I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad. I know everything is overwhelming to you now.

All I had was me to take care of and many many days just doing that seemed more than I could stand.

You are at war. You can win this war. And the reason you will is for your children.

Things will get better.

Nal,

You just have to keep going. I've done posts similar (not physical as much mental for me), and somehow, you just keep going. The support from the people on this website, your kids, they keep you going. I just have one young one, and I can't explain the places my mind has taken me this year. In the hospital with physical side effects of medicines, IV blood counts messed up...I didn't realize how much the mind and body are one until you are hit with this. I'm better in many ways, but I feel like it's not for long - I don't trust anything with this disease. I take a muscle relaxer when I need it and am on an anti-depressant. I don't know if I'll be on it for my life knowing physically and mentally what this disease has done to my heart, brain, thyroid...somehow you make it through.

Give things time - God bless.

Cigi

My little one is what has kept me going, even when I wanted to crawl up and die.

I know my son is better off with a mother than without a mother! You need to remember that!

And think what positive reinforcement you are giving your children. To see their mom battle such a disease - they know that they themselves can do anything, just like their mommy.

Hopefully, years from now, you will be able to look back on these days and smile. You will be able to thank the Lord for your health and the strenth He gave you on your darkest days. You will thank Him for your life, while you hug your little ones.

We are always here for you, no matter how difficult life gets. That is the wonderment of this forum and the people on it...
