I went on a low carb diet to try and control yeast. I lost a few pounds. Now I feel really rotten, achy, tired and irritable. Then I read on here that Bb likes fat cells and losing Weight shakes them up and Lyme sx are worse. Anyone?

hi janet - a couple of years ago i did wonderfully well on shoemaker's no amylose diet for 4 months - i wasn't taking any antibiotics at the time - then crashed!! i have gained 75# with this crazy disease and i do think that those of us who gain weight are probably better off than lose who lose weight - i do spend most of my days home on the couch but at least i don't have much pain.....when i get the energy to go absolutely no amylose agin i will be on antibiotics....

Chronic weight gain is a sign of chronic lyme and it is not for the better. I started to lose weight slowly as I got better and now I'm back to my original weight before getting ill. Lyme messes with everything including metabolism and thyroid. Weight loss or weight gain with disease is never good.
