Hey, just wonderin.. Know of any kids or teens that are actually tall? I mean,I was infected at around age 8 and I never had the normal puberty gowth spurt. My lyme would flur up, and go aawy for periods of time during my development. I'm of normal height today 5'5 - 18 years old and still did not stop yet. My parents are 5'8 and 6'..My hormones are perfectly balanced so I don't have anything..

Good for him! When he had lyme though, did he grow at a steady rate or slow down a bit?

Lynn,

My son seemed to have the same growth spurts as other boys. He grew a lot between 12-14 with lyme and before diagnosed. At 16 he is 5'8. My daughter without lyme is 5'3" and 21. I'm 5'10", so go figure. I think genes play a bigger roll. Lots of short people on the father's side.

Animal feed is often medicated with abx to promote growth by reducing infection.

I feel I've had Lyme at least since age 8. I'm 5'3" and my mom is 5'5"...Dad was 6'2" and both of my brothers are 6'2"....I got short-changed!

Since finding out I have Lyme, I've wondered if I'm short because of it.

I think now that I probably had Lyme as a child. I matured very late (17) and didn't stop growing until maybe 19 or so. I did eventually reach 5'7" but as a young child I was always the smallest in my class. I was very thin.

Both my mother and daughter matured on a more normal schedule.

My son was born with Lyme and he is very thin but of average height for a twelve year old.

See, that's what I'm talikin about. In terms of genetics, we should generally be taller than our parenatl generation.
What I'm trying to figure out now is if My bones are fully closed or not and if I still ahve the hormone!I'm 18, so if the infection clears, maybe I'll grow still. I mean, how are we supposed to reach our actual height is our synovial fluid's infected and our muscles, tissues... Isn't it hard on the bones. I remeber I was alway the tall one with the long legs- then lyme came along.. Was the one with the paralyzing leg pain in the middle of the night
