Horses don't get ticks as often as dogs but the other day my daughters horse had a very small one in his tail.

I pulled it out and then put him in bleach. I wanted to keep it to see if I could learn to identify the different types.

If you ever need to send a tick off where do you send it?

a deer tick is the size of a poppy seed to the size of a sesame seed and usually is dark in color probably black.
If you suspect that your horse may have been bit , please call your veterinarian immediately to start on treatment, the longer you wait the worse the symptoms
