Maybe you guys have already seen this, but if not, it's to good to pass up. Lots of discussion about treating hypercoagulation lately and heparin is the primary recommendation. This study from Japan has found yet another amazing thing that heparin does. This may explain why myself and a few others have gained almost total remission using heparin along with ABX.
============================================

We examined the inhibitory effects of three heparins on the growth of Babesia parasites. The multiplication of Babesia bovis, B. bigemina, B. equi, and B. caballi in in vitro cultures and that of B. microti in vivo were significantly inhibited in the presence of heparins, as determined by light microscopy. Treatment with various concentrations of heparin showed complete clearance of the intracellular parasites. Interestingly, a higher percentage of abnormally multidividing B. bovis parasites was observed in the presence of low concentrations of heparin. Furthermore, fluorescein isothiocyanate-labeled heparin was preferably found on the surfaces of extracellular merozoites, as detected by confocal laser scanning microscopy. These findings indicate that the heparin covers the surfaces of babesial merozoites and inhibits their subsequent invasion of erythrocytes.

Two other helpful, adjunctive agents:

1. 'Hog pancreas'(pancretin)-see med. abstracts this site
srch term: 'Hog pancreas' + malaria or babesia. (anti-malarial agents seem to be the model for babesial Tx)
the study is a comparative analysis on the efficacy of Mellitin vs. Hog pancreas.

2. Mellitin(a highly positively charged peptide)--from honey bee venom.

'Hog pancreas', as the term is used in the abstract, inibited and/or killed malarial bug at two stages of development.

Mellitin--inibited and/or killed malarial bug at ony one developmental stage.

Please do search to verify inhibition or death of the bug.

Hi Electric

Probably the biggest concern with heparin was osteoperosis. But over the few years that that have used the very low doses to treat us, they are finding it not to be the major worry that they originally thought. It is more of a problem in the very large doses used to treat thrombosis.

There are some concerns if you have exhausted adrenals. It would good to have a doc test for that if it might be a concern.

The first ABX I used was Doxycycline, then tried Cipro, both of which I herxed on severely. I have been on Minocycline on and off for about 1 1/2 years very low dose. I've been off the heparin for about a year and now use NattoKinase to maintain my good coagulation.

I don't know if my babesia is gone or not, but I feel pretty good! I've been on heparin for 2 or 3 yrs. I lost count.

I'm planning a switch to natto soon. My bone density is very good, by the way.
