Its hard to say what my home chambers impact has been on my health, as I have done so many different things. I do believe it has helped, and I would purchase another one if it broke. Thats all I can say. I do ozone, heat, salt/c, used abx for 2 years, probiotics etc etc etc. Its difficult to nail down when your involved in so many modalities whats acutally causing improvment.
I will say this. I dont think it put you into remission, but I do believe that it is very helpful on the cellular level. Its EXTEAMLY expensive though. An I think the benefits are only as good as your continued use of the chamber.
Noodlydoo
I will try to answer to the best of my ability , however everyone has a difference in opinion and you must be the one to make your own judgement call...
hi all,
i have some questions on hyperbaric therapy.
1) has anyone with neuro lyme issues had good success w/ hyper baric therapy?
A: I have done hyperbaric for my neuro lyme and have had very good results, however hbot is an adjuntive therapy that means it compliments abx. hopefully helping to cross the blood brain barrier..
1.5) how long are the treatments usually associated w/ lyme disease(1,2,3 hours)?
A The treatments are 60 minutes at pressure, so if it takes you ten minute to get to pressure thats when you start the clock.
2)how many treatments are needed to begin seeing results(or how much do they want you to commit to)? (i hear a lot)
A: I have seen "results" within as little as ten dives however by results I mean herxing, or lyme die off...
2.5) i hear about decompression sickness. how much of a risk factor are these therapies?
A: Hyperbaric Oxygen is one of the safest therapies when offered by a qualified individual or staff. DCI (decompression sickness) is treated with hyperbaric o2.
3) do you need to be treated every single day while you are doing therapy? (eg Mon-Sun) or is it like 5 days a week etc?
A Treatments usually range from mon-fri, some opt for twice a day sessions now that the cost of hotel can also add to the overall cost of the therapy.
4) how much can it run a session?
A: I have heard of sessions running from $50 to $250 per session depending on where you get them.
5) if doctor recommends can insurance cover a portion?
A: These days it's a miracle if you can get insurance to cover anything related to lyme in my opinion, but I have seen it happen in well documented cases. However most facilities will want payment up front.
6) i know different chambers produce different amounts of pressure. how much is needed to help w/lyme?
A: 2.4 ATA
7) is anybody using the home chambers? are they as effective? how much do they cost? can you be by yourself and use them?
A: There are a few people with home chambers that will offer you 1.5 ATA. But the current research suggests 2.4 ATA. In order to acheive this pressure you will need a monoplace or a multiplace chamber. I have my own monoplace and find that it has helped me greatly.
8) where do people in the san francisco area go for this treatment?
A: You can find alot more info on www.wildcondor.com including many chamber locations.
you can also try these nice people,
sorry for so many questions.
Hope that I was of some help...
