Since getting Lyme I get what I call "roaming tingles" a swirling tingling feeling that starts suddenly and usually lasts for a few seconds. At first it was in my upper back and shoulders. Every few months it moves a bit.The sensation is on the surface of my skin.
Recently it moved lower into my mid back on the left side. The last few days the feeling changed from tingling to numbness. This numbness comes and goes and has a little tingling with it. It is getting more frequent.
Tonight the sensation became much more intense. The tingling swirling feeling wasn't just on the surface as usual but went deep into my back and was very intense. Over the last hour I'm getting more frequent tingling and/or numb feelings in various parts of my back and shoulders and occaisionally in my arms hands and legs.
Has anyone else had tingling turning into numbness?
I'm hoping this is a sign the tetracycline has found some more Lyme to stir up and kill. I'm wondering if this increase in symptoms is a sign of progress or the opposite.

I have had the swrling tingling thing in one of my legs and on my back.
Itnever bothered me much because i wasn't painful. I mostly ignore it.
It seems to flare or retur wheI stch tretment. Guess its a herx..... so its goood.

Yes, I had similair tingling and numbness. I had a spot on my back about the size of a dinner plate that would go numb. Some of my initial symptoms included complete numbness in both elbows that spread up to my armpits. These symptoms gradually have subsided following about two years of treatment for both Lyme and babesia. I wouldn't exactly call these symptoms progress but symptoms that will progressively go away.

My LLMD calls this Lyme Paresthesias. He said it's a form of neuropathy caused by bb. He said it should improve with treatment.

That is how my toes ankles feet and halfway up my calf were.... tingly then numb.... they got so numb you could have jabbed me with a pin and I would not have felt it at all....
It has started to get better though... I'm very greatful to my dr. and ketek.
Even though the numbness was annoying it wasn't that bad of a symptoms cuz I already couldn't drive and had problems walking due to pain.

Yes, this symtom is annoying but not as bad as the painful ones. Too bad I didn't have the numbness when my major symptom every night was feeling like my legs & feet were being pricked with pins.
I am concerned though because the numbness is getting worse. Today my face which had been improving was more numb (on the Bell's Palsy side) I was alarmed by numbness in the back of my nose and tingling in my lip on my "good" side. My ears also felt worse than they had in a while. I hope I'm not getting Bell's Palsy on the other side now.
I went to the chiropractor today. He did a lot of neck adjustments and I feel better than this morning. hats

Yep, I have parts of my back go numb at times. It seems to move around and usually mine seems to be brought on by sitting up for too long (how long "too long" is seems to vary - sometimes it's within minutes, sometimes after an hour or more). I haven't really figured out why this happens but it does get worse when my Lyme is worse so I know it's connected. I just brush it off as another quirky Lyme symptom.
