Well,I have been on Mino about 2 weeks now.

When I started, I would get increased head pressure and "head screaming" as I call it (tinnitus maybe?) about 15 minutes afer swallowing the pill. Now that has lessened....not disappeared but lessened.

I feel more "in my body" than I have since I have been sick. I feel like mino is definately helping in a big way. Also on Ketek and plaquenil.

The right side of my body has been inflammed and "out of Sync" with my (normal)left side since becoming sick. Now, my right side feels close to normal.

My head is much clearer ..... would like better recall and word retrevial but I am picking up speed.

Could this mean I am actually gonna beat this?

Can this hold? I have ony been on the mino for a short tme and have only done one week of flagyl. I think I need more.

I have been here long enough to know that is only a drop inthe bucket. All together I have been in treatment a year..... as of tomorow as a matter of fact.

Popped my first abx 4/22/04.

Wanted to update ya'll and give hope to newbies.

When I started here I was sure I was gonna die if I ad to live the ay I was feeling then. Now I believe it canand does get better. Oh yeah, and along the way it changes your life from the inside out.

I hope this holds ...........

Off to figure out the abdominal pain now.

Peace,
robi

congrats.

i have only heard great things about mino for all. including a woman i met who was completely paralyzed and took only mino for 13 months.

she has been symptom free for over a decade and that included two new bites! (which she treated).

with the ketek and plaq you have a good intracellular mix of abx.

see you on the bright side of the moon soon!

Robi,

I've been in treatment a little over a year, and mino was one of my earlier ABX. I did find it quite effective, but I stopped taking it due to teeth staining. Apparently, I am one of a few in the adult population that suffers from this.

However, now that I keep hitting roadblocks in my recovery, I think I will entertain the idea of going back on mino. I'll take the teeth stains any day if I can regain my health!

My best for a continued recovery!
Jewl

that is good news!
i have been on transdermal minocycline for over a year but just found out i have been taking the generic. the generic has been clinically shown to be inferior to the brand name minocin. in studies patients on the brand name who switched to the generic replapsed. i just found all this out, and that i had not been taking enough for a long time.
its a real bummer for me because i am real sick and havnt made too much progress. i know i have to switch to the brand name asap. lately i have been thinking about trying the ketek in addition to possibly some antifungals. i am not sure about how effective ketek is against all 5 of the species of mycoplasma that i have though. it seems to me like it works for mycos though. myco litterally means fungus, mycology, the study of fungi. the layout of mycoplasma is supposed to be fungal. i have been thinking that maybe diflucan, lamisil, or boron could be fungacidal, and kill the mycoplasma. there was a thread about this just lately where a study of 60 chronic lyme patients was done with much improvment. the drug they used was difflucan.

the minocycline is supposed to be good. better than doxycycline. perhaps the best for mycoplasmas.

Break....I am in generic mino......the brand $150 a month vs. $5 for generic.
I also have mycoplasma so I hope this is getting it.

jewel..... yes I thnk stained teeth are better than the pain I was in. Maybe a dentist can help with the cosmetic issues.

Thanks for the reply zip...... I still wanna get my immune sytem back in shape so I can hold these gains.

Working on geting rid of parasites also.

my teeth get kinda stained but even before i started mino i have used a peroxide like gel and a oralb electronic tooth brush. i think this really helps. peroxide bleaches and whitens while it cleans and the vibrating brush cleans well.

i am doing a full 21 day internal cleanse from blessed herbs soon. lately ive realized detoxing, cleansing, and getting rid of parasites is really important. we have to be able to properly flush and dump toxins, not be so backed up and toxic that it is impossible.

do you know how the ketek is with mycoplasma? do you think its an important part? how about the plaq? that boosts intracellular action?
