Yes I have read that here before. The killing of bacteria which are made up of protiens and other things causes a rush of extra protiens into the blood and yeast&spirochetes effect the prostate and bladder. A man should discuss elevated PSA test results with his doctor. There are many possible reasons for an elevated PSA level, including prostate cancer, benign prostate enlargement, inflammation, infection, age, and race.
I've had sky-high proteinuria before. It ended up being from a C. diff infection and not the Lyme however. Once I took oral vanco and cleared the C. diff infection, the protein issue cleared.
Also, because elevated protein in the urine can just be a transient and random thing, the doc followed up with a 24 hour urine protein test (which was elevated for me). I would suggest that for you as well.
Be well.

my high psa is not cancer i have had 3 bx in the last 4 years from the 3 top urologists in philly and all neg. if you had a bladder infection wouldn't zithromax for 5 months have stopped it? i know bactrim is drug of choice, but still all that bactericidal abx should have killed any infection. how about from kidney stones , i get them every years, they could elevate blood and protein no?

During my massive herx several weeks ago, I developed a raging prostate infection and have been passing alot of things through my urine. My doctor believes that it in fact was all related to pissing the Lyme bacteria off as well as the die off.
I am now in the mids of a second minor herx and I am again noticing the same thing in my urine. Doctors dont seem to worried, so I am comfortable with it. I was on Cipro for a month wich was tough with the Primaxin IV and Ketek.
One thing I will keep saying though is the one thing that has helped me the most was Glutathione IV push. I think it has been a major factor in my improvement, however it made for a real wild herx.

Doc, what are really up to w/the Donald? lol Have you seen Dr. Jellyfinger?
I had this and it was transient. LLMD thinks it was Babs related and it's stopped since doing the Mepron shuffel.

played golf with donnie at MY COUNTRY CLUB IN WELLINGTON and he was quite unimpressed, so no more invitations for him. Yeh unforunately Dr. Jellyfinger is better sex than my wife, doesn't have a headache and is more frequent, so who's to complain. your welcome to come down and play with the rich anbd famous in Wellington and play a couple of rounds of polo with prince charles and new wifey. man the horses look better than both of them. the reason this is a problem is for life insurance. believe it or not i have them convinced them lyme is not life threatening or life shortening , but they are only concerned and denied my insurance because of the protein in the urine. now i have to go to another Jellyfinger and get him to right the the protein is from the lyme bacteria and is not life threatening or shortening. these life insurance examiners are crazy, they will use any excuse not to insure you. i had to keep my old blue shield insurance with my medicare just in case something happened to medicare, because blue shield would drop me and never pick me back up. hey how about a law about this, wasn't mr bushface suppose to insure that preexisting conditions could not prevent you from getting insurance???? who voted for him anyway????
