hi all, currently on mepron/zithro....doc wants to add omnicef to the arsinal. i dont know much about this drug. what is it good at? i have lyme/babs. is it a cyst buster? does it cross bbb? just wondering.

Generally the later the generation the better thta the cephalosporin passes BBB. Oviously, IV and injectables have a more direct route, so by default they have a better chance of BBB pentration.
The one caution about cefdinir that I found was the potential for seizures-this is not a warning on the proeduct label, but appeared in a few case reports.
