My LLMD suggested I take a abx-free holiday. I have been on abx nearly 3 years now and still have symptoms. I have been reading about Toa-free cat' claw and wondered if anyone here has tried it for lyme. Also, has anyone taken an abx-free holiday? How long should I stay on this holiday?

As I mentioned to you on the phone, I've been off abx since November and was doing GREAT until I got a recent tick bite. ARRRGGHH!!!

You will know how long to take the holiday because if your symptoms don't come back, you're good to go, and if they do come back, you hit the abx again!

You might also want to consider Rifing. I just ordered one last month and can't wait to get it!! I'm hoping this will keep me off abx and get me to 99% instead of 95%!

And then there are the natural methods we discussed! that will carry you a long way!

Also, several here have taken Samento from www.organic-pharmacy.com I haven't tried that yet. There was a recent discussion on this a week ago.

Go to the bottom of this page and click on page 2, 3, 4, etc until you find it. The search function may get you there too, but hasn't been working lately.

Welcome back to Lymenet!

I am on a semi-holiday from abx. I am by no means symptom free. But, like you, I have been on abx for almost 3 years. I need this break to help my gut heal. But, I am pulsing Bicillin, which is low dose and slow release, every 2 weeks.

Too soon to tell but I can say I feel pretty crappy, other than having a great day on Sunday.

Hi

Cats Claw, Transfer Factor, and Wobenzym is apparently the new "Nutriceutical" protocol for treating long term symptoms of Lyme Disease. This cocktail won't kill the critter, but it will go in and clean up it's messes.

I've been on them for about six weeks now, and am feeling much better - knees, ankles and hips are less sore, stiff and achy, and I can actually read a book with out having to re-read the same page over and over again.

I've had mini herxes - one day, a fever with chills and body aches, then gone... another day, sore achy joints, then gone. Mostly I'm feeling better.

Keep in mind that these items ain't cheap - the Transfer Factor is quite costly, but I think that the boost in immune is well worth it.

I've also been doing SAM-E to help deal with the overwhelm. It has been very beneficial.

Keep the faith.

Peace

I've been on the capsule form since last summer, as a combo with traditional abx. I herxed like crazy from the first 1/2 pill. And continued to herx each month, but pain levels dropped significantly. Gradually ramped down the abx over 4 months, and upped the capsules.

Have been off abx and just on Cat's Claw since November, and doing great. And yes, I'm a chronic Lymie.

I took Samento (toa free cats claw) for several months along with my abx. I didn't notice anything positive or negative...as far as I could tell I might as well have been taking plain water.

You can also order Samento direct from the company that manufactures it. If you order several at a time, it's much cheaper.

My LLMD has me on Samento, Noni, and Bee Venom injections to kill the lyme. He has never put me on antibiotics. In fact, he doesn't believe antibiotics are very successful if you have had Lyme for a long time.

Substitute Xango for the Noni and you'll really see progress!

Julie:

That's great. I have a box of Saventaro ($$$) sitting on my bookshelf & have been hesitant to start it. I tried it once for about 6 weeks and saw no improvement. Maybe I'll try again. How much do you take? Do you pulse it at all?

Sorry, just noticed you said "one pill". How many mg?

Tutu: I don't know how effective Noni juice is. It just looks too slimey to drink - like swamp water. I have a friend who swears by it though.

Lymetoo,

Where did you order the RIFE machine. How much was it. I have been considering this since cannot take antibiotics due to P450 liver complications.

Any info is appreciated.

Those who are on samento:

Have you put yourself on the TOA or has your llmd recommended it?

Beachcomber

I use Allergy Research Prima Una de Gato capsules. Each capsule contains 375 mg Cat's Claw extract. The recommended dose is 3 capsules a day. I'm up to two. I herxed off 1/2 capsule immediately.

My LLMD put me on this in conjunction with abx, and then weaned me off the abx.

I'd like to work up to 3 capsules a day as recommended by LLMD, but hate to herx, and why rock the boat?

LLMD keeps coming up with new research that indicates it not only addresses infection, but blood sugar regulation and blood pressure modulation.
