Hey all,

My wisdom teeth are starting to pop in. This is not a good thing - I'm starting to aggressively treat lyme again. I'm wondering if I should wait until I feel better to get them removed, or if getting them removed right now will help me.

I know dental health plays a huge role in Lyme disease, but I'm not sure what difference my wisdom teeth make.

I'd appreciate any kind of information on teeth!

I would educate yourself about the risk of cavitations and other jaw infections. The wisdom teeth surgery is what put me over the edge and made my lyme surface...I guess this is pretty common, so its something to think about. Although, if you are like me, then the pain of having them come in without enough room makes the surgery necessary.

IMO your best bet would be to find an oral surgeon who is knowledgeable about cavitations. Also ask your Lyme dr for his/her opinion on you having surgery in your condition. Any surgery can be a big stress from lymies. But maybe there are certain things you can before and after to make it easier onyour system.

I would also do a search on here - GiGi and others have posted lots about this topic in the past.

good luck!
