1.Is it ok to take zith near or at same time as Mepron?
2. Does anyone know how expensive IM Bicillin is? Someone said its backordered or hard to get right now also. Just wondering what it costs out of pocket.
Thanks so much!
You can take mepron and zith at the same time but it is better to take the zith on an empty stomach and the mepron with fat.
I used to take zith as soon as I got up and the mepron about an hour later, with a 1/2 a peanut butter sandwich.

Bicillin is not available in most of CA right now. I would do some serious checking before starting on that med. Most pharmacies are saying it is back ordered from the manufacturor. It was even on the news.

Zith just isn't doing it for me anymore and I am not feeling anything from the Mepron, at least no herxing yet.
I have read here that IM Bicillin is a fairly new way to treat lyme and that the shots can be painful and hard to do at home.
Please let me know if there are other issues with this abx that I should take into consideration.
He is considering ordering it from Europe, which I know is commonly done, since Bicillin is used more there.
I know search is slow, but it still works. You'll find many people have done well on Bicilin. I don't have personal experience, and my son wasn't on it long enough to even say how well he did. But it looks promising.
Just make sure you study up on how to give the injections. If your husband would do it, that would make things easier. I think it is hard to do for yourself. My son has a large target
so he doesn't have any trouble doing it himself.
The shots are usually not painful if they are done correctly and slowly. I think docs think they are painful because they don't take the time to do the injection properly. I know some people are more sensitive and will have trouble, but really, most don't seem to.

The only problem is that you have to mix it, because suspension is only good for 10 days.

Hwlatin, thanks for the Zithro tip! If my son decides not to get his Bicillin from Europe, this might work for him to be able to tolerate it.
