Hi,
I've been researching from the archives about how and where to get the Stricker NK panel done for measuring CD57.

Does anyone know the best place to send for this test at present? It seems that LabCorp in San Francisco is recommended, and also CPL in Texas. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Nancy

I was told that Stricker worked with the LabCorp in San Francisco on 450 Sutter St to get the procedures down. (Stricker and that LabCorp office are in the same building there.) The LabCorp folks there told me if I had the blood drawn at a different LabCorp office to have them call the LabCorp in SF to get the proper procedure.

I would do it with Labcrop. The one in SF and one in Oakland near Summitt hospital are very knowledgable about the test. But keep in mind you can only be drawn for it on Mon-Tues-Weds something about where it has to be sent.

Hey all,

I've recently been asked by my llmd in CA to get a HNK-1 Panel drawn here in Oregon, and then have it sent to LABCORP in either San Diego or South Carolina. Is this the same as a CD57 test?

Also, if you have an extra second, could someone explain exactly what this test is looking for or if known, why the San Diego LabCorp was chosen to have it sent to? Do different LabCorp's specialize in different tests, or perhaps it's the llmd preference?

My many thanks in advance,
JavaBeing

Hi,

This a good site to check out, it explains about the Stricker panel.
http://www.anapsid.org/lyme/strickerpanel.html

IDL - Immunodiognostic Lab on Post Street in S.F. was where Dr.S used to send his patients, but when they were bought out by Lab Corp thats when we started using the one at 450 Sutter. There is a Lab Corp in Mill Valley also that usually gets the CD57 right, please note that not all Lab Corps do and most other labs don't get it correct at all.

A couple of years ago I was trying to get mine done at Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa, so a nurse could draw from my central line. They called IDL three separate times (three separate tests) and never did get it right.

They were going to start drawing on thursdays also, I don't know if they ever did, something about the plane. If I find out anything about that I will let you know.

I hope this helps.
