It's a bit embaressing to share, but I'd like to know if other guy-lymies have a similar experience.

We know that Lyme screws with your nerve system. I have a theory that it can affect a guy's 'staying power' when having sex. With that I mean the ability to control the moment of orgasm, which is all controlled by the central nervous system.

I have experienced this two ways. Before being diagnosed with Lyme, and getting sicker, I also experienced that having sex became a shorter and shorter pleasure. For a guy very, very frustrating of course...

Now after on abx for almost 1.1/2 year and a lot of my Lyme symptoms gone / going away, I am happy to report that my sex experience is getting better longer again. Wow!

Howdy,

Yes. It is embarassing to share, but we (guys) have to in order to continue kicking this bug down!

I have had the same problem the entire time I have been infected, 18 years.

I believe that the bug messes with ganglia tissue, both in the brain and in the nerve complex near the groin. This would explain this symptom.

It's great that you are returning to *normal*. I am improved, but going from memory, have a ways to go.

Keep on, keepin' on

I am not a guy, but Lyme can invade the prostate and this can affect sex.

On a side note, from my female friends (and my experience) this 'staying power' issue seems to be VERY common with men once they are over 40 years old (lyme or no lyme).

There are drugs...but many of the men refuse to see a Dr. I guess it doesnt bother them that much.

I'm not a guy either, you probably figured that out from my vaginal yeast posting.

Anyway in my experience many men under 40 have a staying power problem too.

Anyway, the real point here is that Lyme seems to cause a change. It must be really frustrating for you guys (and us women too)!

Since we're being blunt here goes: I've noticed that since Lyme treatment my clitoris does not always return to normal after I climax. It sometimes stays red and swollen. This gets painful. A few weeks ago it was really bad for several days. I still am not 100% back to normal. I wonder if this is due at least in part to the yeast problem.

hatsnscarfs,

That happened to me after one of the babies--it had something to do with blood flow to the area? I am queen of the yeast--but didn't know that then, but my whole family, even those who are not lymed have yeast issues.

I told my mom she needed to quit eating flour and sugar because of yeast (she has sever allergic reactions to the dye in fabric). She went to the doctor the next day and found out she had yeast growing under her finger nails (yuck). Freaked her out...

I can't imagine a guy calling himself Hatsnscarfs...but you made me laugh out loud--and that's good!
