I have been on Rocephin for seven months and was mostly worse than pre-dx for the first 5 months then a little better and then the last four weeks have been great.
That of course is "great" by my Lymie standards and means ups and downs and lots of naps but overall improved.
I'm walking my dog a mile or two a few days a week and my doc thinks I might be ready for some physical therapy. I see him today (Monday) and we have a lot to discuss.
But I want to hear how long some of you did IV before you felt relatively good. And how much longer before you came off of IV. and If you think it was good or if you wish you had stayed on longer.
I'm so sick of my PICC line and want off of IV but don't want to have a major setback either.
Also, I only did one month of Mepron and my nightsweats have returned with a vengance during the week before my period. Do you think I need to address babs again?
I am also on doxy with the rocephin but only 100 mg 2x a day. I will ask to up that and or add something as we approach the end of IV therapy.
I'm also taking atremisinin, B6, fish oil, ALA, probiotics. I also will be starting samento soon.
Help me know what to ask for. My doc is knowledgable about LD but not his main practice. Thanks in advance guys.

good luck,

I did 2 rounds of IV Rocephin. The first time we stopped it after 12 weeks because of preblems with my veins. The oral equivalent, Ceftin< held me steady for 2 months but no more improvement.
The 2nd round was 16 weeks and then my vein sropped cooperating again. I would have gone 2 more months if I could have.
So, I would say 6 - 8 months is probably ok, if your gallbladder can survive it. Wish I could have stayed on it longer than 4 months. So does my MD.

Actually the last few weeks I have been depressed and need a change in my psych meds right now. I'll call the psych if needed after seeing the regular doc today.
beachcomber -
I already lost my gallbladder so it's not a factor at this point but I do worry some about my liver. But I would worry about that with things besides the rocephin.
The gallbladder attacks came on so hard and fast around month 4 of rocephin that there wasn't really a choice as I was already on actigall and it wasn't helping.
Fortunately, surgery went very smoothly and I recovered well so I'm not too worse for the wear.
Thanks for sharing guys.
I'd love to hear more opinions if they are out there (wink, wink).
