Hello flygirl, I used a combination of clindamycin and bactrim for three months and made quite a bit of progress on this regimen. (I tend to change antibiotic regimens every three to four months, and herx every time a change is made.)
Well, I hope the clindamycin is better to you than the biaxin.
Take care, Ms. Myo

flygirl,
My son Dominic who was six at the time improved leaps and bounds on Clindamycin. He did a 10 day rotation. 10 days Amoxil and then 10 days Clindamycin and quinine (sp).
He started off slow with Clindamycin taking only 1/4 tsp and then finally working up to 1 full teaspoons 4 times a day.
We noticed dramatic changes in the beginning. May 1 has made the 2 year mark for us but in this journey he has had the most suscess on Clindamycin and then again on flagyl. These are two that people warned me saying where hard drugs to tolerate but Dominic has done wonderful on both.
Hope this helps you. Starr

I cleared babesia by taking clindamycin/quinine....I was off abx for 6 months and am now taking zith and artemisinin since I seem to be having some babesia symptoms again.

What symptoms do you think are Babesia?
Do you think it's from your recent adventure with a tick? Or a relapse, or who knows?
Pull up those bloomers,please!

I just started IV clindamycin. I hope it works as well or better than rocephin. it leaves a weird taste in your mouth. in addition to this, I am forcing myself to walk ten miles a day, on the theory that adipose fat hides or assist continued Bb infection. (my joint symptoms prevent me from running, but not walking) right now, I feel weird, I've been having a lot of headaches and such and continue to be confused and experience disturbing numbness in extremities, and usually have to take lengthy naps after walks.

I've been wanting to try this but, can't seem to find anyone to prescribe it!!
Can you take it orally or just via IV?
I've been on Mepron/Zith for over 6 months but, I still feel symptomatic.
Bruce - you described the way my arms feel all the time and especially tired after trying to exercise.

Hello ponytail, Clindamycin can be taken both IV or oral. I took a combination of oral clindamycin and oral bactrim with great success. I am now on minocycline and amoxicillin oral combination and it seems to be working well too.
My LLMD is in Texas so feel free to e-mail me if you want her info.
Hello flygirl, I can't say the clindamycin made me sick, but I did herx strongly when I first started it. My symptoms of body aches and involuntary muscle jerking increased. That leveled out eventually and then I made great progress.
