Trying to survive this day.

So sorry you're having a rough time. If you are herxing, the pain can get pretty bad--similar to when first infected with Lyme.
But not everything is a herx so it is always best to check with your doctors to be sure.
I don't know about your med question. Maybe you could check with your pharmacist if you can't get in touch with your doc?
Try to hang in there.

I am sorry to hear this!
I too am having a really hard one today, if it helps you at all.
You should call your local pharmacy about the medication interactions. They should know right away.
Never had the tail bone thing, but I have heard others here talk of it.
Trying also to make it through the day. Have you visited the cyber memorial day thread? I asked if anyone wants to go surfing....wanna go in? It doesnt look too rough right now.
Just trying to take my mind off the dizzies!

I took hydrocodone while on biaxin and plaquenil. It's still always a good idea to check with a pharmacist though.
My pain was much worse the entire time I was on Biaxin. I actually think the plaquenil reduced pain by reducing inflammation.
Can you describe the pain in your arm? I've had severe arm pain that turned out to be caused primarily by inflamed muscles. It took a while, but I was able to get it under control with an excellent physical therapist and muscle relaxer.
Can't answer on the tailbone. I do know that reactive arthritis can cause lower back pain though.

The pain in my arm is mostly shoulder and surrounding muscles. Can't hardly lift it with out causing intense pain. The problem now is there is a grinding going on. I shed a lot of tears today....think it helped to "drain" me.

You've had many rough days lately haven't you?
Cyber memorial day thread...what is this?
The shoulder pain lessened after a few months and made sleeping easier but I could still hardly raise my arms over my head for many more months. Suddenly the pain went away. I can stretch again. I can turn on my side and move the pillows around!
The bad news is that whenever one symptom goes away I get a new one to take its'place. Variety is the spice of life! IMO getting new symptoms sure beats having the same old ones all the time! Now I have terrible rib pain on the right side. Since starting Plaquenil & Biaxin 3 weeks ago I feel the best I've felt in ages, in the morning and early afternoon. Then between 4 - 8 at night the rib pain starts and sometimes gets totally out of control. My ribs feel as if they are bruised and swollen. I sometimes take tylenol w/codeine (Tylenol 3) which takes the edge off the pain and makes me more functional. My LLMD said it is OK to take this with P&B. Eventually I get tired and fall into a deep sleep. In the morning the rib pain is gone without a trace.
This weekend I had some progress. Saturday night and tonight the rib pain was not so bad, it was manageable.
I've also had some old symptoms suddenly come back since starting P&B. Last week I had awful knee pain. This pain had gone away completely last July. It came back suddenly and was really bad for 3 days. Now it has disappeared again.
Be sure to keep a symptom log. I keep mine next to my bed and I write in it every night. This helps me spot progress. I get frustrated because symptoms go away so slowly. When I read the log I remember how bad the symptom had been and then I realize how much progress I am making.

I also have "new" pain in my tailbone area. It is a burning pain, deep inside. It is also a new pain for me, but I am not on the same abx as you. It is possibly a herx, killing some keets that live there, I assume.
I am on rocephin, 11 days now. I also take hydrocodone for headaches/pains and what also seems to work pretty good is anti-inflammatory Naprosyn. For me this seems to work the best.
This pain really stinks,, but I am assuming that it means it is die off and toxins.
Hope you feel better.
Sandra
And don't come back another day!

May I suggest a chiropractor? I wish I could keep one in my medicine cabinet and use as needed. Life would be MUCH nicer.

I am not a doctor.. and I am not a duck either... so keep that in mind.
It is possible you may have dislocated your shoulder? I do it all the time. NOT fun.
My muscles spasm so hard... just on their own... they actually pull the shoulder out of whack and then... if it partially goes back in place.. it can pinch a nerve.
YOWEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
I also suggest calcium to reduce muscle spasms. That little ditty has helped me and others. I use Coral calcium.
Also...
Warm milk at bedtime (hot chocolate made with real milk) may help relax muscles and reduce spasms??
Or.. do like I do.. and I KNOW it is hard to do this and NOT a good thing to look forward to... and you probably will hate the idea... but maybe you could skip the milk and...
EAT ICE CREAM!
Feel better soon.. or be a goon.
Your choice!

If you get the choice to sit it out or dance...
These are your words and they sound very familar...

Yes I'm feeling a little pinched at this moment maybe the meds are beginning to knock me out.

Let us know how the MRI goes tomorrow.
Hope you feel better afterwards!
Have you tried muscle relaxers? If yes, have you tried to slowly increase to a maintenance dose?
I take Flexeril, which actually works best if you take it every day, rather than just when the pain comes. It causes fatigue, but I increased slowly starting at 5mg a night, and adding another 5m each week until 30. I think Baclofen is similar.
It still takes time to get used to the fatigue, but it's better than that burning muscle pain.
I must have had a really good night. I took one hydrocodone as I got on the bus heading to coach my last softball game of the year...I know, like I have the energy for that. Anyway, the bus ride was tolerable and I must have written a reply when I got home...after taking something for sleep. I just logged on tonight and was reading your reply and thought I need to respond to that and then laughed out loud because I already had...thanks for the laughter...great medicine. MRI was done today...now just have to wait for the results. My doc says we need to get another look....not sure it is the lyme causing all this....didn't waste my breath because he was ordering the test and that is what I needed...for whatever reason.
Take care
Cher
