Hi!
My LLMD has stopped my abx because I have tinnitus.It is not that bad,it is worst a few hours after the zith infusion and subsides by late in the day.

I have had tinnitus since the lyme started and it increases when I am herxing.It is usually associated with headache and fatigue when it is really bad.

I am really disappointed.

My LLMD hasn't spoken to me yet.The nursing service contacted him because I told them I had some tinnitus and so he said to stop the drugs.

I am so worried.I believe that it was working as I had a definite herx cycle last month.This had stopped happening with the IV rocephin.I think I had become immune to it.

I am going to ring him tomorrow and try and convince him that the tinnitus is not much worse than normal.I shall keep my mouth shut in future when they ask me all these questions.

Has anyone out there heard of ear nerve damage from zith?

Me again:

I have terrible pain and tinnitis in my right ear. I am pretty sure it is from the Zithromax because that is when it started. My MD stopped the Zith (for various reasons) and it is still there. He doesn't seem to think the "damage" is permanent. After 1-1/2 months of no Zith it is only slightly better but getting better.

Good that you stopped the Zith, in my opinion. Hopefully, Doc will come up with a better med for you.

By the way, I have an acquaintance who got permanent middle ear damage from abx and is forever off balance now - she was on 60 Minutes several years ago because of this. This isn't something to fool around with.
