Just thought I'd let you all know that I am officially NOT herxing. And loving it.

I have been off mepron/zith for 17 days.

My liver enzymes have normalized along with other CBC, CMP abnormalities.

I no longer have the following symptoms that I experienced while taking Mepron/zith.
-cyclical afternoon fevers, hot flashes, and chills, sweats
-MAJOR EXTREME dizziness, disequilibrium
-labile (up and down) blood pressure
-upper right quadrant abdominal pain

I am still trying to determine if it really was a herx or something else. I never had ANY of those symtpoms until about a week into mepron. I now have my usual lyme things like twitches and headaches.
I am also STILL trying to figure out if I should restart mepron/zith at a low dose as I did this last time. (Not as low as Dr. wisebutt, but very slow increase over 4 weeks) Have heard that some folks think this can cause resistant babs. LLMD says there is no evidence either way and I should do whatever I feel is right. So NOW I get the power, right when I don't want it. Not without the knowledge!

Thank you all for helping me thru this insanity.

Feeling like I am human again!

Welcome back from the pits! Man, you had one long haul. I'm so glad you came out the other side. Hope that's the worst of it for you!

Coo coo coo! Good news! I love it!

I vote to keep going with the Babs treatment. I had to stop when they cut me off... and it is NOT pretty. Keep going and you should see even more improvement.

Just MY opinion.. and I am NOT a doctor.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Woo hoo Trails,
That is awesome news.

I'm on about week... hmmm, 7 now. Sweats are less but my joint pain and stuff is ramped up. The "bottoming out" emotional phase has passed for now with the exception of it coming on strong for a couple hrs yesterday. So obvious with this emotional cloud that came, dumped a downpour and then the sun came out, so to speak, that I kept hearing the advice here "it's the Mepron talking".

Yee gads, you give me hope, grl!

After the babs clean up, then I see Dr. H in CA (ya!) sometime maybe in the fall. My Dr. M in BC wouldn't be able to help with IV so that's the next step. I think...

Keep it up and enjoy! Go do some of the stuff you love and hug a mountain for me ok? BTW, you'd love where I live, big windows look over a 4000' one, just a hill really But pretty.

My best,
StinkBug

Isn't it nice to feel human again? I'm waiting and maybe God willing it will happen.
Enjoy it.

Thanks everyone! I guess no one knows the answers to my questions?

Stinkbug,

I tried to paste a photo of the view from my house, but it didnt work. I live at 4,000' and the view is of a range that goes to 11,000' !! I am going to miss it tremendously! (moving to CA) It is the thing that gets me out of bed in the morning and makes me smile each day at least once.

What part of oregon? I have "inlaws" that retired to medford.

Maybe we should emial sometime and talk more openly?

Keep up the golden nuke power girls! You are all stronger than I AM!!!

And the Golden Nuke Power Girls are taking over the world! Because...

Hey, I'm feeling a hell of a lot better today. Actually got up, made spousal unit breakfast, then "steamrollered" him singing goofy songs like my old self. Usually taking a song and putting rude words to the tune

Was able to sit on the wooden kitchen table chairs, eat breakfast and stand up again. Normal, no bent over lumbar/sacrum lock.

I'm going to vacuum the house *gasp* (it's true) and go dishes and and and....

And I won't over do it. I don't seem to get that backlash as bad as many. Just when things clear up, I take advantage to live "myself" again. The hard lesson I've learned, though, is not to make any commitments, to self or others, in doing anything in the future, not even tomorrow. It's hard to feel let down over and over. So, I'm just open ended and will do as able and pencil things in.

Glowingly,
StinkBug

Um... hold that thought....
I was vacuuming and was using the brush attachment, pulled the machine towards me, it lurched (a stand up type) and it hit my noggin bad enough to make me sit down with some ice.

Spousal unit came to assist and I was bleeding. Darn thing split my forehead, not stitch-worthy but enough to get out the butterfly bandage.

If it isn't my luck eh? Now I'm going to be feeling great with a big old whopping lumpy bruise.

Well, at least my herx seems to have passed, too. Am continuing with Mepron/zith for another 4 weeks after this one and will see if my monthly cycle comes in to play since I was pmsing and herxing during that "bottoming out" phase.

Geez. Back to the ice.
StinkBug, with a swollen head.
