In Dr. KLinghardt's recent article titled a "Lyme Disease- A Look Beyond Antibiotics" taken from a Lyme conference in Jan 2005, I believe, he recommends under the salt/vit c protocol, to stop the protocol after 3 weeks, and keeps you off of it for 2 weeks, then you go back on it again for another 3 weeks... repeating this cycle....I noticd he stops it just before the 4th week herx cycle would begin....do you know why he suggests this?...
As you may know from Marc's salt/Vit C protocol website and message board that the 4-5th week and the 8th-9th week and each subsequent 4 weeks is when people on the protocol typically go thru some major killing off of the organisms....and weird herxing symptoms...why would he have you stop the protocol just before this important phase?
Any ideas would be much appreciated?
Thanks.
Dr. Klinghardt does not limit the Salt & C protocol to three weeks. You might want to read the text again.
He does recommend breaks in between most if not all protocols, whatever they are; any supplement or med or abx program. Usually the body turns against it at one point or another. Most people coming in to see him for the first time are allergic to the abx they have been taking for a long time, and/or they are incompatible with many of the supplements they have been taking. Neither is a good thing for the patient.
Any Klinghardt protocol whatsoever is determined by ART testing before it is recommended to the patient. There is no "one size fits all" protocol. It does not exist. We are all individuals with totally different makeups. All that also applies to the Salt & C.
I am not familiar with Marc and his protocol - so cannot comment. Sorry.
Everything, any protocol, Dr. Klinghardt does is tested first via ART. If it blocks the Autonomic Nervous System which is readily determined by ART, the protocol is not used or altered, to the point where the patient benefits. All is tested together, not just the individual supplement or med.
A blocked ANS is not in a healing mode and nobody benefits.

then there is the salt/Vit c message board at http//health.groups.yahoo.com/lymestrategies
Alot of people are making progress on this protocol when antibiotics have failed them....At Marc's site there is an advanced section that you pay access for and it gives you all the details on how to do the protocol and ramp up gradually...Good Luck
