Hey folks,

As if this ride has not been crazy enough.

I now am covered in a rash that looks like heat rash. It is not itchy at all.

My meds were switched to Biaxin and plaquinel 3 weeks ago. Is this a skin herx?

I have has terrible issues with acne over the past 3 years. LLMD felt all the topical antibiotics I was given never helped because of the lyme.

Could this rash be the new meds clearing things up?

Anyone had a similar experience?

Hey popcorn..

Not to get personal.. but have you taken a bath in the last month or so?

Let's say you took one just yesterday... that way I can finish my post, typing with both hands and not having to use one of them to hold my nose!

I'm not a doctor.. but here are a few thoughts to consider.

1. Yeast.

2. Toxin release. That's why I asked about the bath. You should shower to keep all prespired toxins off the skins surface as often as need be... so they won't sit there... and/or be re-absorbed.

3. Allergic reaction to the meds. I got that same type of rash kinda sort of when I took Biaxin.. and within a few days my lips and tongue started going numb.. so do be careful. And it started at about the one month mark with the lip swelling.

4. Allergic reaction to something else.

5. Sleeping with bull frogs.

6. Heat rash.

7. Something completely different.

???

Hopefully that will give you somethig to think about. Hope it gets better soon!

Thanks for the info. I usually shower. I do however 2x weekly take an epson/peroxide bath. I do shower off after those baths as well.

I see my doc on Wednesday hopefully he can provide some insight.

My overall symptoms have been less intense. Really been feeling improvement. Spots just concern me.

Thanks again

Another thought out of the blue..

Babesiosis?

And another..

Ehrlichoisis?

Have you gotten worse lately?

Since I can't see the rash.. and am not sure I would know it if I did.. it's hard to say.

Good luck at the doctors!

Hi prconn
Yes I have had this type of rash-
when I first got it- it itched
very badily--
I did notice that when it got on
both my shoulders in a large amount
the joints in both shoulders became
very painful for about 8 months--

I dont know for sure the rash had
anything to do with it tho--
Many people speak of lyme rash-
I am not sure if they mean this
type of rash or Lyme bullseye Bruse-

I have had this rash the hole time
I have had lyme---Has gotten
much better after being on abx.

I've had what I call ABX rashes, it was red and felt sort of rough, but not at all itchy. I used to get it on my face, mostly, in blotches. It resolved in time, although, that time may have been after off the particular ABX.

It's completely different then a fungal rash which looked red and scaly and itched like crazy. Argh, don't even want to think about it.

The bad doctor, I went to first, gave me some sort of steroid cream. BZZZZZT, wrong answer! It makes it feel better for a while and comes back with a vengence.

I'd keep an eye out for allergic reaction as well. Although, I only have had those to sulfa and they give me flat red circles starting on my torso and spreading out. They really itch.

I'm going to sleep now, I'm obviously not helping here, all systems seem to ahve shut down.

Myself being decorticate to night , for levity, I'll facetiously profer that, it might be due to somebody with a voodoo doll sticking the thing with pins to put a hex on somebody, and they manifested in you by mistake.

Babesia and/or drug reaction?

I have had this type of rough/reddish sometimes very itchy, other times not so itchy under my breast and always on back of my neck. I started getting this rash also when put on Biaxin and Plaquenil, it does come and go and what helps me is using the clear calamine lotion which calms it down and you can slap alot on since it's clear. Benydril helped when it was really itchy at night time. Hope this helps.
