5 day ago I started heparin shots BID and zithro/mepron. I keep expecting to see something. Anything...but no. I just have a very sore abdomen and my swollen glands are clearing up from stopping the ceftin.

I have noticed some lability of emotions, tho. But that is it. I have had sx for 18 years and some from childhood. I feel desperation. Help. Sometimes my patience wears thin. LIKE NOW! HELP.

aliyalex~
I have no clue about the treatment but it sounds early yet. Hang in there and have these...(((hugs)))... maybe they'll get you through for a little bit.

I'm with you there on the emotional stuff though. Not that that's any help.

Somebody should be coming that's more helpful than Me any time now.

I can't tell you what will work for you, only what seems to be helping me so far. Remember, not only am I not a doctor, but I chose this regimen with full knowledge that it could have negative side effects. You should not feel encouraged to pursue this regimen in any way, as it is for educational purposes only.

I've been on it three months, and now exercise almost every day and work a challenging full-time job. The Lyme and babesia symptoms are still mildly present every day, and flare once a month. My adrenaline and cortisol levels have dropped so far from where they were, I have to relearn how to get energy and stay motivated.

This regimen is for Lyme, babesia, and systemic inflammation.

Omnicef 300mg/2x day
Ketek 400mg/2x day
Mepron 2 teaspoons/2x day
Artemisinin 100mg/3x day

For inflammation:

Celebrex: at your own risk
Bromelain: recommended by many Lymenet members
Theanine: active ingredient in green tea, recommended by many Lymenet members

For yeast:

Nystatin 3x day
Coptis extract 2x day (the active ingredient, berberine, is also found in grapefruit seed extract and, in smaller amounts, goldenseal extract)

I've also experienced great improvement from bartonella by taking rifampin, but cannot recommend it with this regimen.

I'm not on the same regimen you are on, but I certainly can relate to the feelings of desperation.

When I feel good it just means I am not suicidal from the pain.

Things will get better. Just keep reminding yourself of that.

We're all in this together, and you are in my thoughts.

It is amazing how everything you all are saying I already know or have said to others, but there is something about being in this desperate place and hearing those words ferom you all that goes in so deep and brings hope.

Thank you for that and for me being in your thoughts. sniff sniff

Mepron mood swings!
Yuck!

5 days is definitely just enough to feel the depression and nothing else.

Did you start full dose? Mepron 750 BID and 250 zith BID?

Not much happened to me until 4th week and then I wish it hadnt happened. So it may take some time.

We're here with you! and for you.
Trails

I am taking 500 mg zith and 750 mg mepron and 200 mg of artemisinin.

Yes, mood swings, that's true. What had become slight hot flashes are now sweats. Other than that, nothing.

Thank you all for the encouragement. I will hang in there.

some of the results of antibiotics, don't kick in until week(s),month(s) after cesation, when the immune sys. kicks in from having been suppressed by the medicines them selves, the infection(s) themselves, and other factors.
Burrascano's 1998 description of the effects on the heart weeks after stopping treatment fit me to the 'T'.
So this is the kind of timeline you have to think in, generally speaking.

We're not used to thinking in terms of these long timelines, and the fantasy
is to have 'microwave' results/effects, by which to assess ourselves, the treatment, and conditions, as we're able to with other medical and dental conditions.
Despite which what I just said, I'm still impatient for results, effects, etc.

Trust me, you do NOT want a massive herx; it could kill you. I had one.

Thanks for the perspective. Did you mean that the abx kick in after going off the abx?

Glad your herx didn't kill you. Are you getting better?

I think what PQ meant, and I could be wrong is that:

Antibiotics weaken the immune system ( and they are a necessary evil)

So when you take them, you not only haev the effect of what they have done to kill the lyme ( herx) , you also have your own natural fighter (immune system) being totally devastated.

*Sometimes* one CANNOT see how far they have come until tehy are OFF of antibiotics. And don't ever try that on my account!

I did. It worked. I did 18 months of antibiotics, gradually tapered down and thought I was gonna relapse.

I'm not almost 90 percent better. I was 40 on antibiotics. My post is on the front page of lymenet.

And no im not saying what I did is what everyone else should do.

This will get better for you.
