does being on these meds for 6+ months make you feel like it's aged you a bit?

do you eyes ever get puffy? mine NEVER ever ever ever used to. and I do mean never. (lucky)

as recently as November, pre-drugs, I didn't have pictures with dark circles, or puffiness around my eyes. (despite the fact that I've carried this babs for years, apparently it never did a thing to my skin/demeanor).

now, I've been on mepron and so on for 6-7 months... and cytomel for 3+ - which has caused me to lose 8 pounds. hooray you say?

well, maybe not - I feel my face is gaunt kinda now - as you know, having a wee bit of baby fat makes you look younger, and losing it makes you look older.

last night I was bad and had a little bit to drink. my eyes were puffy this morning! (when I say little, I mean half a fuzzy navel)

I also wonder if my face is a bit more sallow, too. I'm really fortunate to have next to no wrinkles and I've always had a baby face, but losing 8 pounds - it ain't all in my butt. and gaunt ain't good.

anyone else have these stories? maybe I am just paranoid, but I look at pictures from vacation - even MARCH - and think I look a lot more rested!! I started taking them around march I think - so maybe the cytomel is making this happen?

should I eat more and gain it back?

Yeah, the whole thing makes you age. Drinking will dehydrate you which the medication is doing already. Your body is saying "dammit, I need to hold on to something" so the puffiness/swelling is from ta-da... water retention.

I age every day just thinking about every sensation I have. It's called stress.

Age can thin your face out... you're not going to be young forever. I would suggest you get in more essential fatty acids-Omega Oils and try to eat nuts, grains. Your immune system will work better if you get in essential fatty acids.

Take more supplements. There are a lot of people here that could help you. Check in at the Newbie links for nutritional/supplement help.

Flygirl,

Wow I've been thinking about how I'm aging. I've always looked young. My sister who is nine years younger looked older than me.

I can stand to lose alot more weight though.

Eat more and stretch your body. Get your body flowing.

I had a sip of tequila this weekend and now I have heartburn.

I've aged AND gotten fat. It all adds to the depression.

At this point I feel I have to pick my battles though and getting my health back is my first priority.

Once I'm well enough, I plan to do a makeover. It's something to look forward to.
