IF so, what are you on? What helps the nerve pain/skin burning pain the best?

I would say neurontin would be great for that. Hope you find the solution.

I take neurontin, darvocet and flexiril. I've been taking them for a year and they really seem to help. I may have to change the darvocet because my liver enzymes are too high. Otherwise I don't have any significant side effects. Hope something works for you too.

I was told by my LLMD that I could not take darvocet because it was too hard on my liver. She has me on Darvon (and Naproxen) which is just Darvocet without the Tylenol.
By the way, the Darvocet seemed to really help. I don't notice any positive change with the Darvon.

Neurontin did nothing for nerve pain and burning for me.
Low dose Elavil (10mg)and low dose Valium (2mg) worked pretty good. No longer need to take either one.

Best was a balancing act between ibuprofen, willow bark (natural aspirin), gingko (not taken for pain, but seemed to have a surprisingly good effect fo r pain, too.), and 'nutrijoint' (another nutritional approach that seemed to have an effect on joint pain). I was on ...'celebrex'... for awhile, but it ate holes in my intestines and almost put me in the quackery! I'd stay away from that by all means! DaveS

Naproxen, celebrex and ibuprofen are anti-inflammatories. They won't do anything for nerve pain. They may help if the pain is referred pain from swelling in another area.
Neurontin seems to be the favorite of the drugs to help with nerve pain. I couldn't get to a high enough dose though, because it made me way too tired. I think that's because I'm also on Flexeril.
Unfortunately, all the opiods and traditional pain killers don't seem to work on nerve pain. I was on ultracet for a while, which may help. I had to stop it because it interacts with Flexeril to cause seizures.
