I was just watching the late nite news here, and they did a segment on a new 1-day antibiotic coming to market. It is called Z-max and is made by Pfizer. Apparently it is a liquid form of azithromyocin that is supposed to be effective for sinusitus and pneumonia in just 1 dose.
Interestingly, its one day effectiveness is due to its absorbtion in the small intestine vs. the stomach (as in normal oral ABX). It was a very short segment, so it didn't cover much, but I found it interesting nonetheless.
