Is this a herx or is it just a reaction to the meds and the babs?

Since Mepron works on babs and babs involves sweats, then it would seem that the sweats are due to a herx reaction.

Are ya doing OK?

Hi Alyalex,
Sweats were part of my babesia symptoms and helped to clinically diagnose me. I'm also seropositive.

When I was going through a couple weeks of herx , right on day 4 and through week 4, I was sweatin' like a Banshee. Seemed to really ramp up.

While it was hard to do, I'd have a warm shower and loofah skin cells, helping to sluff the toxins that come out in the sweat. And then enjoying it cold to finish.

Be well,
StinkBug

Did you have the sweats BEFORE you started taking the Mepron/Zith?

It is a sypmtom of Babesia, but I have yet to find anyone here who was like me: NO SWEATS before starting Mepron/zith. I started sweating like MAD afterward.

LLMD says it was a herx, but still not convinced. Babesia panel from Igenex was negative-all tests.

Sweating the small stuff,

Ick - I hate the sweats!

I have a chronic case of Babs, and that is the first sign it is flaring up. For the previous 2 weeks, I was sweating like a pig and was really miserable. But, as soon as I started another course of Mepron/Clinda/Ketek along with Artemisinin, the sweats disappeared. Immediately. My first good night sleep in a couple of weeks. Proof to me that is what is happening.

Given the nature of all these illnesses, anything can happen, though. Something is happening, you know that.

Well, it sure looks like there is not much consistency with sx and med reactions. Nothing about this disease is easy.

My sweats are subtle just like any other reaction to this protocol. It is hard to know if the sweats are from menopause or babesia.

The heat is horrible here in southern Louisiana. heat index hit 105 and my husband needed to get me off the tractor and carry me in. I thought I was having heat stroke. At least I recuperated unlike 6 months ago.

Thanks for listening.

I had those hot flashes and sweats and all but there is NO WAY I am menopausal. Would be nice though seeing as the endometriosis is not being kept in check!

What are you doing out on a tractor in that kind of heat on Mepron/zith? Are you nuts woman???? Lay down with a fan and some cool lemonaide! (without too much sugar)

Glad you are safe inside!

I've been on almost the same abx combination, with ketek instead of zith, for eight months. It took 2-3 months before the herx was completely over, and I still get sweats once a month, along with dizziness, lightheadedness, fatigue, oversleeping. The relapse lasts about 2 days.
