Hi!
I was just picking something up the other day and all of a sudden the wrist cracked really loudly and it sent wave of pain up my arm and into my hand.It really hurt.Have had shooting pains in that hand since have had lyme but this was really painful and left the arm aching for a couple of days. The pain and aching went all the way up to the shoulder. It was really weird as I wasn't doing anything strenuous.

Anyone have that sort of thing.

It is still weak and hurts if I try and do anything hard with it.

Thanks,Sue.

Hi Sue,

I always had these problems with Lyme.

Everytime I would do something as simple as carry in a bag of groceries, my arms would hurt like heck for two days.

I found that four Advil, heat, and two days or so of rest were always in order.

If it lasts longer than a couple days, I think I would call the doctor.

Hope you are feeling better soon!

Nancy

Hi shassler,

I have also had these kinds of pains for many years before Lyme treatment and after. Usually now more when I am herxing real bad. Some days I can't pick up a coffee cup.

Before being Dx with Lyme my GP Dr. thought I had tendinitis(sp) and put me on steroids for a week. It made the pain go away in my hand and arm, but the rest of me went downhill after that.

I do agree with Nancy... Take some pain meds, and take it easy. That always works for me. It happens more when I push myself.

Hope you feel better too
Lisi

I have a lot of problem with my left wrist and arm. (Actually my whole left side does weird things.)

It appears to have a mind of it's own which is a little disconcerting. It also flings stuff.

Avdil might help a little, I only take one at a time, for inflammation and try ice first if that hurts then try heat. Rest it as best you can.

I hope it feels better soon.

Last spring when pain was at a high, my forearms were arthritic, burning, stiff in the hands. Couldn't THINK about opening a 20oz soda, ugggh. Then when I would week the garden,it were as if my arms internally were still making the motions and the hands would clench and stiffen for long periods of time and shoot the pain right up to my shoulders.

I iced a lot, took tylenol extra-strength and 1/2 a muscle relaxer.

As "tree" says, glucosamine may assist with the spasmodic episodes. I'm still very new with alternatives, but you start to try everything available after a time.

Much, much better now that I have been on abx! Still have the tingling and numbness early am.

Just wanted to validate you that this symptom has occurred to others.
