I am supposed to stay in a friend's apt who's cat had Bartenella, he was treated years ago but has since been very ill.
Is this a dangerous situation? Can fleas and Mosquitos transfer the illness?

Yes, this can be a potentially dangerous situation.

If the cat is ill with Bart, it can be passed on via fleas, scratches, or simply saliva.
