Would the majority be that it's worth it or a complete waste of time?
I started about 3 weeks ago and it takes some getting used to. It's also pretty scary going off the antibiotics if that's the way you decide to go. I am also doing this with my doc keeping an eye on me. He didn't recommend it but has several patients doing it with good results.
I have been off antibiotics for 3 weeks and haven't noticed a slip yet but for now I am always thinking about it.
I honestly have herxed everytime and in the beginning they were manageable because, in theory, most of the bacteria should be in cyst form which will limit the kill. But after stopping the antibiotics I did the same length treatment and it knocked my socks off, to the point where I wasn't sure if I was herxing or slipping.
I waited it out and spaced my treatments back to five days and things cleared. Today I tried it again and am starting to herx again.
This is just my experience. I'm hoping that it will provide me the ability to return to be the father and husband I was before relapsing and back to work sooner.
In my opinion, there are very valid points from both sides and it makes the decision tough but I was willing to try it, especially since my doc made it easier to convince my wife.
Do a search here and read, buy the book it is very helpful to me and check out the yahoo group (I haven't thanked them yet but they got me through my big herx when I over did it). I haven't found out how to add links yet but you'll find it in your reading.
My Best To All,
Scott
I also spoke personally to quite a few people who are doing rife. My biggest point is that you shouldn't just jump into it. Make an informed decision.
Keep in touch. If you decide to do it, I will be happy to help, if I can.
I'm not spending much on mine, and so I was willing to "let that much money go" if it doesn't work. I've spent 30 times that much already on abx, etc.
It would also be good to join the lyme/rife group to get a feel for how people are doing on their rife machines.
the book can be purchased at www.lymebook.com and I think Bryan has the email list at that site too.

I herx.
You betcha.

I have only done 2 sessions--did herx, but I can't say for sure if it is working or not, yet.
There is a microcurrent machine called KMT22 which is also supposed to be helpful, but more expensive than the rife machine I bought. The advantage of rife is you only sit in front of it for 30-60 minutes every 5 to 10 days. The disadvantage is the unknowns of danger to the body. The KMT22 is supposed to be safe, but you have to hook to it for 1 hour to 6 hours (depending on the program) with electrodes and sticky pads. It also beeps non stop. Gigi can tell you more about the KMT22. Good luck. Hiker
Do you have to go off Atx while using it?
Can a herx be delayed 2 days or so or are they immediate.
If you have a herx, doesn't that mean it is working?
thanks,
Peace,
BJG
The question is... are there any other effects on the body. If you read the book "The Body Electric", there may be a long term effect for very strong EM fields.
But the Doug coil is only about 100 gauss in the center of the coil, not much more than a hair dryer. So probably the effect is small. "Doug" of the doug machine has been rifing for over 10 years, with no noticeable effect.
The KMT-22 just uses a 9 volt battery, so that is probably very safe, but slower to see results. The same for the plasma tubes..not as strong, but maybe safer.
Of course, antibiotics come with there own set of trades-offs. Rifing is no different. It is a slow process. Be prepared to stick with it 2-3 years. Then 3-6 times per year after that.
A note of caution, since there are still alot of unknowns, I would not rife children, they are undergoing a lot of cell division while growing, and we do not know how it affects their DNA. ( Of course, some have..with no noticeable effect...it may be worry for nothing).
As a comparision, I was on antibiotics for 2 years with improvement, but nothing lasting. Rifing appears to be a better solution for me. I am doing great, with no observable problems.

I have tried rife twice. The first time I did a set of frequencies for no more than 3 minutes. I walked around in a daze for 2 days. Thought I had undergone a lobotomy. I slept lots, which I guess was ok.
14 days later I tried 3 frequencies from a different recommendation and started to herx about 2 hours after. I spent the next day on the couch. I did not feel well at all.
So, I don't know if Rife works or if I am just frying myself with electricity. I'll try my third session next week.
The Lyme/Rife Group is so weird, in my opinion. Some of the folks talk about their machines and frequencies in a scientific language that I have no understanding of. Then, there are the folks who say their frequencies come to them in dreams. So, I don't understand what any of them are talking about.
I wish their was a safe and understandable way to get a newbie Rifer (non-electrical engineer) started. You are sort of on your own with this scary equipment.
All that said, I am going to give it a few weeks to see if it makes a difference, with my MDs ok.

beachcomber....did you have any periods of feeling much better once the herx wore off? It's good that you're not doing it too often.
BJG...abx make the keets go into hiding....so if you're off abx, the rife can zap 'em more easily.
If you herx, it would seem that it's working...but who knows??

But because many people build there own, the results can vary.
Les Roberts, who runs the Pensacola Florida group, is very knowlegable about rife. If you want his contact info, just email me.
