Does any one recomend a good multivitamin?

So far I hear that too much vitamins are bad, and some multis have mold from the B vitamins.

I have Perque http://www.beyondhealth.com/why-perque.htm

Some crazy natural MD sold me them for my manic depression years ago...

Their 2 years old. I take them now and it just makes my pee very yellow...

I never like that bout the Bs.

Vit C

I never noticed a difference on, besides taking ester-cal and ester-mag ascorbates. And even the buffered stuff gave me bad gas and dirhorea

Vit A

I would notice increased healing when
I had a sinus infection.

Whats everyones opinion on this.?/

After reading Jacob Teitelbaum's book, "From Fatigued to Fantastic," I decided to try his multivitamin product, "Energy Revitalization System." http://www.iherb.com/berrysplash.html

I am pleased to report that I actually notice a difference with this product. It also comes in a citrus flavor, which I did not like.

Regarding the price: at iHerb.com you get a 6 to 10% discount at the checkout, and free shipping. And they ship FAST.

About the B vitamins, this product packages them separately. (I hadn't heard anything about mold.)

Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum has alot of excellant information on his website. Although he's geared to chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, he seems to be aware of Lyme Disease, and includes therapies that would be beneficial for Lymies.

I use Shaklee multi vitamins...called Vita Lea...all from a food matrix, so easily dissolved in the gut and assimilated.

I also use their Vit C, B Complex and Fish Oil.

My favorite is Optiflora..their encapsulated acidophilous...the capsule dissolves after the stomach to avoid the stomach acids...live cultures guaranteed...
www.shaklee.com

They've been in business for forty years and are all natural...Good stuff.

I don't sell this stuff, but would be pleased to forward you to my friend who does...Just send me an email.

Whoa! That's a lot of money for a vitamin, Lymeherx.

I take an Rx multi called Strovite Advanced (no iron). It has no allergens and can only be gotten with Rx, which my insurance covers. It costs $11.00 for a one month supply. It is so easy on my gut. You can ask your MD about it.

I used to take Every Woman, which is a great and $$$$ food based vitamin. I-herb has about the best price on it but, it will still set you back around $38.00/month.

The Shaklee vitamins are also pretty good.

Your pee turns yellow because you have enough of whatever vitamin you are taking so, your body excretes the rest rather than absorbing it. This happens to me with C if I take more that 1,000 mg. It's a good indicator of how much your body needs. It also happens if I take too much A.

Hope this helps.

I take the multi pack DR. B recommends also. I notice my pee is dark or brite yellow if I don't drink enuf water.

Also all these vitamins kind of shock the body into working. It took about a week before my pee was normal and body started absorbing the vitamins.

That's just me and I'm not a scientist or Doctor.

Heather

Does you vitamins have an experation dat on the bottle or box?

Don't forget the minerals. Magnesium is very important especially when taking calcium supplements. I take magnesium, 500mg (250mg before breakfast and 250 before dinner) of magnesium and 2mg of copper each day and a B complex. I get an energy boost from this combo... (Yes, B complex causes yellow pee, but its ok)
Recommend reading Dr.Carolyn Dean's book "The Miracle of Magnesium" Amazon has it about 10 bucks. (All GP docs should read it)

It is amazing what Magnesium deficiency can do to you; from strokes to calcium build ups, splitting headaches, dizzyness, panic attacks... Modern foods are very deficient or cause deficiency of magnesium. Soda pop is one of the worst...
My tooo cents...
I include you all in my church healing prayers...

Does anyone know if Magnesium should be taken at the same time as calcium? I always thought they should because you see so many combo pills but a nutritionist told me they should be taken at different times or they compete to get into the cell and cancel each other out. What have you all heard?

I have been taking a multivitamin and so has my son for 3 years it is $69.00 for 252 tablets, go on the website www.truehope.com it is a great company, they call me every week to see how we are doing, they have learned alot about Lyme since Tyler and I have it, I would advise you to contact them, they will give you all kinds of advice, I still think that is why I am not as bad off as some ,they have a great website...

DawnE,

Magnesium should be taken at least 2 hours away from calcium and iron, so it can be absorbed better. Hiker

Trails;
Dr.Carolyn Dean's book "The Miracle of Magnesium" Amazon has it about 10 bucks.
Great book. After reading it I wondered if some of my wife's lyme reactions might actually have been Magnesium deficiency caused by the meds she was taking....

Magnesium is far more important than I imagined. Magnesium is necessary to keep calcium in solution so it won't form kidney stones and build up in the joints and arterys.... If your magnesium levels are too low you can have a heart attack/stroke....
Dr. Dean recommends 300mg of Magnesium oxide at day. If you take two 250mg tabs then 300mg is left because of foods and stomach acids eat up 200mg of the 500. She recommends takeing a tablet 2 hours before/after eating. Stomach acid when you eat destroys the magnesium. Take less if you have a diarrhea reaction. Supplements vary...
Soda pop depletes magnesium big time.

Dr. Dean lists medications that destroy magnesium so you might need more magnesium.
The book is worth the money..

I thought I would put in a word for my favorite vitamins / suppliments.

The first one I tried was Ambertose, it has Aloe Vera, Glucosomine, and Pine tree extract. It was great at treating low energy, arthritis, and allergies. It is expen$ive at about $100 a month.

These days I take Reliv Classic. It is $40 a month. It does not taste good, but it is an acquired flavor (like quinine). Overall it has lowered my chloresterol, increased my energy, improved my ability to sleep, and is highly recommended!
